One month check up

I had my one month checkup today with the surgeon. I have lost 23 pounds since my preop appointment. I was aiming for more. I wanted to be down 6 more. So basically I missed my first goal. That being said I can not remember the last time I had lost 23 pounds so that is exciting. I am going to have to reevaluate my next goal which was to be in onederland by my next birthday. I want to be challenged but I don't want to miss goals. So that is something to thing about.But my surgeon was happy. She said that in the first month a 15% loss of my excess weight is within (but at the low end) of the normal range. She also wants me to do 30 minutes of cardio 3 to 5 times a week. I have been walking and that really does make me sweat but she is looking for more than that. I have an elliptical but I know I would work just as hard on the treadmill.
I also met with the nut. Today is my first day of soft foods. She wants me to get more protein from food and only one protein shake a day. She also told me that I don't need to eat all of the food I planned. If I can't eat it in 30 minutes I get to give up. Which is good as I was trying to eat everything and getting too full.
