7 weeks and loving it!

Oct 12, 2010

Today, I am 7 weeks out from surgery.  I actually feel like I have never had surgery at all, when it comes to my incisions and belly.  I dont feel anything there, no pain, no pinching, nothing..so that part is really good! My recovery has really been a great and easy one.  Praise Jesus!  I have not had any problems per say...and I have tolerated every food I have tried.  Granted, I have taken my time in eating new foods...I'd rather be safe than sorry.  According to my NUT plan, I have started soft foods for the 7th and 8th week, then I will be on to all regular foods as tolerated.
I've tried eggs! (yay!!)  I Love Eggs!!  they went down just fine.  Now, most every morning, I have a one egg omelet with cheese.  Today, I put some deli turkey in it, and it was awesome!  The egg is great protein, and I tolerate it, plus it fills me up perfectly and tastes great!!
For lunch, I had about 2 ounces of tuna fish with light Miracle Whip and some relish in it.  It was delish!! I make it nice and juicy, so it goes down smoothly.  I also had four crackers with it.  It was a very filling and lovely lunch.   In between, I am still doing two 4 ounce Boost Glucose control shakes a day, so that I make sure I get in my vitamins and enough protein for the day.  Im drinking normally now, and enjoy all the types of sugar free drinks there is.  My fav is grape crystal light.
I still have a cup of coffee every morning, but I just dont drink as much...its usually about 6 ounces instead of the normal 12 I used to drink.
I've lost a total of 58 pounds so far.  I feel fantastic!! I feel lighter, and I can breath easier, take a shower without feeling like Im dying, and I can move faster, and I sleep better than ever!! And the best part??? Im NOT hungry!! when I do get hungry...I eat a tiny amount and I am full.  I still enjoy eating soup the most...I love my mushroom soup and tomato soup.   They make me feel warm and cozy.
My underwear are baggy, my bras are too big, and my shirts hang on me nicely now.  Before I was packed into everything.  I felt like I balloon that was ready to bust!  Now, I have breathing room.  It feels so good.  I can only imagine how much better I am going to feel as the weight continues to fall off.
I kinda hate that my blog has alot of negative posts on it, but I wanted to tell it like it is truthfully so that someone reading it will know that it is not all easy peasy and know what to expect.
It really does get better with each passing day.  I am so glad I had it done.  I am really glad it is over!! now, all I have to do is continue to watch what I eat and hopefully the weight will keep falling off.
:)
