Skating Again!

Jan 02, 2010

As a child and a teen and a young adult I spent my life in two places, the skating rink year round, and the ski hills.  I've finally gotten back on skates, and that feeling was amazing.  I had really hoped that I would see that day again, and I have and I have every intention of doing it again and again.  Those two sports were my passion.  They very much formed who I am to an extent, but especially skating.
I'm happy to say that I have brushed off my skies and ski boots and will be planning a day to go and hit the slopes once again.  This is just wonderful.
Happy New Year.  I've been blessed that my "NEW YEAR" started on November 5th, a little early, but a very welcome beginning to what will prove to be an exciting year of "FIRSTS" again!

Life back at work!

Dec 16, 2009

So I'm finally back at work.  I had alot of apprehension about going back.  At home, things were easy and scheduled and eating my meals on time was a piece of cake.  Now it's time to adapt to real life.  Life of running errands at lunch time or after work and getting home later.  Making sure to not look for a quick fix.  So far it's going well, and I try to keep the running around to a minimum.  Now it's trying to find time to go to the gym.  More like being motivated enough to head out right after work and get a workout in.  That's something that has eluded me for the past week, but I know I have to implement it somewhere.  Well I guess one day at a time.

Water consumption

Nov 30, 2009

So the weight loss is going well though I am having a little bit of a problem trying to get my 64oz of liquids in.  I'm a coffee drinker, or should I say a converted Decaf coffee drinker, but I still have a hard time with just water, or even with crystal light.  With the "stop 30 minutes" before a meal and don't drink for nearly an hour after a meal it makes it difficult during the day to get the liquids in.  And I really don't want to be guzzling that at night.........makes for a long night of going to the bathroom.
On a positive note, with my fourth weeks since surgery quickly approaching, I am back a the gym, and doing yoga at home.  I'm now up to 30 minutes on the stationary bike.  Would like to get back to free weights, but I have some time left before I can lift more than 10lb weights.  That should come soon.  Did I mention that I love love my WII fit and Wii Tenis.  It gives me that little extra boost during the day after having gone to the gym.
Well that's about all the update I have at this time.  I'm 34lbs down in 3.5 weeks so I think it's going well!!!!

Was the surgery done!! :)

Nov 15, 2009

So as I sit here at home with not much to do (note to self, find a hobby).......all I can think about is my stomach and what I believe to be "hunger" pains.  Yes, I've done some reading about head hunger, but is that really it?  I tend to ask myself, if I'm this hungry now, then what does "full" feel like?  I can't seem to achieve that "full" feeling, or am I just not noticing it?  I sometimes wonder.......did he really do the surgery....LOL or is this a test!!

I guess time will tell!
