Hi Karen, This is Karen lol. In reference to your milk question. I had my surgery Wednesday 6 day's ago. My Dr. and dietician both told me to drink my milk. Let me tell you after I got home and drank a little milk I started feeling better fast. Not to mention how yummy it was. So I sip on milk regular and with my carnation instant breakfast. All I have to say is give it a try. Hope all goes well with you. Also being a woman you need the calcium.... Karen in SC 6 day's post-op and loving her Mayfield 2% milk lol

Hi Karen: I am 3 months post op and am now getting through all the ups and downs after surgery. what you are feeling are normal. give yourself a break and relax. your body is going through alot of hormonal challanges. It will take a while before you feel like your self again. Just exercise, eat right, get plenty of rest and take your vitimines and calcium.I have lost 76 lbs since surgery and 70 lbs before surgery. I am doing great now but I had a lot of ups and downs I am in councling for every 2 weeks. You might try counceling too it helps.I have gone from a size 10x down to a 2x and 1x blouses and 3 x pants. I am extatic. I am in college and it hasnt been easy trying to take classes and study going through recovery process. Hang in there It will get better in time. just enjoy your new life. I am so happy with my life now. Injoy every new day. Sheryl

Thanks Karen for your thoughts on my question regarding how to deal with my negative family regarding surgery. You were very helpful in your response and I will use Oprah as you suggested. By the way congrats on your surgery! My best wishes to you as you have reached the other side!

Karen, I can totally relate to what you have to say. I had my surgery Sept 30, last Monday. I feel like I'm losing my mind sometimes. I feel like I'm eating too much but I know deep down that I'm not. Then I get the old fears that this is just temporary and it won't work for me ( I'll do something to mess this up. Sounds so postive, I know) I had no idea how mental all this was till I had the surgery. Now I have started a diary, where I keep a count of food that I have eaten for the day. Not to actually count calories but so that I can see it on paper that I'm not cheating. I don't know if any of this makes sense. I'm having to learn everything all over again.
