Donna's Angel here with an update. I spent an hour and a half with Donna tonight and she's doing much, much better. Still no liquids, but they are letting her have swabs and swish her mouth with water so she feels a little better. After her leak test tomorrow morning, she can start on ice chips. She's in little pain and walking when she can. Thanks for all the support and prayers. You guys rock!

{{{{Donna}}}}} A fellow SqeakyWheel here. Perk up, this is only a fraction of your entire life you now have in front of you. Keep your thoughts positive, as we are for you. Look forward to hearing from you on the board again...God Bless. Jill in AZ.

Hi Caroline :-) Oh if only they WOULD let me give her the chapstick. We had that. I asked them if they would moisturize her lips with a Glicerine Swab...NO GO...they said absolutely NOTHING near her mouth :-(. If I could, I'd slide some of my lip balm on her, believe me, but they will not allow ANYTHING. I quite do not understand it myself, but they are being very adimate about this :-(. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. :-) Suzie

Hi Donna! I read the post about how you have had some difficulties and I am sorry to hear that. I pray you will persevere through this trial, and that time will pass quickly and total healing will occur. Be strong and take courage.

Donna - Hang in there! There are many people cheering you on. In no time you will be feeling better and lighter! A tough couple of days is nothing compared to the long months of fighting with Cigna. Praying for you girl - Kelly in Seattle.

Hi Donna and Suzie :) I so hope you will receive this while you are still in the hospital Donna. As for not being able to drink and the severe thirst, that is common to us ALL. The reason for it is not only that you haven't had anything to drink but also the anesthesia and pain meds cause dryness. You won't get dehydrated because you have the IV, but you WILL feel extremely dry and thirsty. One thing I tell all my angelettes and all the pre-ops I know is that if you bring only one thing to the hospital, make it Chapstick or some form of lip moisterizer. Suzie, if you could bring this to Donna, I am sure it will help her. The hospital might also have some so it is worth it to ask for. So hope this helps and that you see this post. Donna, keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery... Caroline
