I had my appointment to give blood today however, I was unable to. My hemoglobin count was 10.2 and it must be 11.0 to give blood. The technician told me to take some iron supplements, get plenty of rest and eat read meat. I am going to try again on Friday. The Pulmonary Test was a breeze. All you have to do is take a deep breath in, place your mouth over a tube and exhale all the air out of your lungs and then inhale again. The Alterial Blood Gases Test (ABG) wasn't that bad either. The technician that did it, Tommy, was really nice and patient. He wished me luck with my WLS and also volunteered to take my picture undergoing the various tests for the website I am working on. He even gave me extra print outs of the results! I hated to go back to work, it is about 75 degrees outside today :(

I have more appointments to add to the list. I have to meet with Sally, the dietician, 3 times before I have surgery. Wednesday 03/15/2000 at 11:00am. Friday 03/17/2000 at 8:00am and Wednesday 03/22/2000 at 8:00am. Also my co-worker will be having surgery 03/28/2000 a day before mine!!

Today I was on the phone making all my pre-op appointments. Wednesday 03/08/2000 12:00pm- Pre-registration 12:30pm- Blood Donation 1:30pm- Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and Alterial Blood Gases(ABG) (Need this because I have Asthma, I heard it hurts because they take the blood from the artery instead of the vien) Friday 03/10/2000 8:15am- Gall Bladder Sonogram 9:00am- Upper GI (UGI) 10:00am- Chest X-Ray Wednesday 03/15/2000 9:00am- Blood Donation 10:30am- Blood and Urine (CBC, CHEM PANEL, URINALYSIS, T3, T4, TSH)ans EKG I also found out today that a friend/co-worker of mine was APPROVED. She wanted to have surgery on the same day I am having mine, but the doctor is booked. She may have it the day before! How cool is that!
