I should explain about the re-scheduling of my surgery. My former surgeons scheduled surgery twice and then just 3 days before surgery they postponed it. The first time was because they were missing a clearance that they eventually found in their office. The second time, I had been cleared by the psychiatrist they sent me to (a pesonal friend of the doctor) but the surgeon decided at the last minute that he was going to hire a fulltime psychiatrist on staff and he wanted me to see that psychiatrist for counseling for several months before surgery. Since his friend, the psychiatrist, had already cleared me, I was not comfortable with this. I felt that he was just trying to make money off my insurance company. I am now going to Dr. Troy LaMar. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive from my home, but well worth it.

Thank you for all of your nice comments. I really appreciate all the encouragement. My surgery has been postponed from Aug. 20 to Aug. 27. I got my cardiac clearance on July 23 but the cardioilogist forgot to send it to my surgeon. When I went in on Aug. 15 to sign consent forms and have all my pre-op work done, they realized the clearance was missing and they couldn't reach the doc or his office so they postponed my surgery for 1 week. When you are all prepared for surgery, it is hard to have it postponed. I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude about it.
