Hi Suzi! Like you, I was a self-pay (damn exclusions!!!) and to keep my expenses down, my doc only recommended testing for areas that would be directly effected by my lap RNY. I had a chest x-ray done, an EKG, an abdominal ultrasound, a full blood write-up and a lung capacity test done. Within 30 days to my surgery, I had to have a physical as well as another blood work up done. My only co-morbidities are a slight case of asthma and a slight hypothyroid condition.
