My story is probably the same as most of you. I've been battling weight issues for years now. I've done diet after diet and obviously been unsuccesful.  For the last few months, Ive hated the person in the mirror. Ive avoided mirrors for months. I hated to go out. I've felt judged. Disgusted.  Depression kicked in hardcore. This is no way to live. In fact, I wouldn't even call it living - just existing.. I am 32 and NO kids. Being this heavy and being a hermit would not get me on the road to any destination.

I needed to make a change in my life. FAST. So, I decided to go for Lapband surgery.  My sister had Gastric Bypass surgery over 2 years ago and lost over 100lbs.  She looks wonderful.  However, I did not want to go that drastic route.  If I had i would have to wait over 2 years to have kids and there are so many more health risks that I simply wasnt willing to take.  Fortunately, my sister's weight loss was a success story. But. not everyone is the same. So, Lapband was my cup of tea. Luckily, I have a great insurance company who approved my  surgery within 4 days.  I've been fortunate not to have any health issues.  All I needed was to have a BMI over 40 to approved (mine was 43). I met with my surgeon who went over the bands, he said there was really no differenc.  They both work the same. However, RealizeBand has a great online support system.  I guess thats what sold me.

So, here I am 2 days post-op and telling myself I CANT believe I am banded!! Hopefully, this will be the end of the road for me.  If this doesn't work for me, I don't know what else to do.  But, I know I will achieve my goal --failing is not an option this time around. It's time to follow my bliss...

Good Luck Everyone!
