Who invented the scale & Y cant i get over my addiction of weig

So what did i do today first thing at work? Yes you guessed it i weighed myself, like and idiot! Of course it didnt say less, I just started my cycle! So why in the world did i think it would say less?! 

But on the bright side i went to a friends birthday party this weekend at a mexican restaurant here in town and i did great! Had some shrimp (4), scallops (2 very small), ans fish ( a peice about the size of a med shrimp)  from the seafood fajitas i shared with my hubby...NO tortilla, one bite of beans with cheese, and 2 chips with salsa....all in about 2 hours...we were there for a while!

Ok now the best part of it all, even though the scale still hasn't moved (cant quite get to that 50 pound weight loss mark, 3 more pounds)......i got into my favorite SEVEN brand jeans (size 20 and they were loose) and a favoite top i havent been able to wear in like 3 years (glad i kept it)...ok and the real kicker!!! Are you ready!!! I WORE HEELS!!!!!!!!!! Yes i wore high heels for the first t ime in like forever, and for more then like 5 minutes, i wore them all night!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Thank God for the small victories that keep me moving right along, even when the scales wont!!!!!!!

Ok so scales really are stupid...mine hasnt moved in like 2 weeks AGAIN, but whatever because my clothes arer so much looser. When i started i was at 24/26 and now i am in a 20!!! from a 3 or 4X to a 1X...... So i say BOOOO to the scales!!!!

OK so on SAT we went to go see the water horse...at an OLD theater, and i was able to fit in the seat without turning sideways AND my legs didnt even go numb!!!!!!!!! YAY....ok so not only that alot of my clothes are too loose so i tried on some that i had hidden in the back of the closet (for "when i loose weight", but never really thought it would happen)  and low and behold they fit!!!

One last happy moment....today i got on the scale and I did not have to move the larger weight (it is an OLD scale)  to the 250 mark!! Never again will it see 250! Now my scale at home says one thing and the one at work says another......i will post new numbers when i go to DR H office for follow up on 3/27...then i will kow my real weight.

As far as things i eat:
CHICKEN (moist with sauce)
SHRIMP (moist with sauce)
GREEK YOGART (with splenda and SF jelly)
Cottage cheese ( with pureed canned fruit with splenda)
Cheeses (lowfat)
Soups
SOY milk
Asapragus/ broccoli, cauliflower, green beans (over cooked so mushy)
SF/FF homemade cheesecake
Mice milk, strawberries and cream

thats most of it for now......

Well gotta fix supper, babysitting for a friend tonight so i guess i should feeed them LOL

OK so last night was sooooooooooo fun!!! Some of my 24/26 jeans were getting baggy, so i figured what the hey let me try some of my old clothes on that i have not been able to fit in over a year...guess what..no just guess, YES your right not only did they fit, i didnt even have to lay down to zip them up!!!!!! AND most of them were a 20!!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO ....This surgery has given me a new life and a new begining....the energy level alone is incredable. WOW! I am a nurse and have to wear scrubs to work but i want to wear the clothes instead because i cant wear them anymore soon! 

My favorite thing i can now fit are these 7 jeans that i got from Lane Bryant life 3 years ago and i can finally wear them again!

So now the plateau part, again I havent lost anything in like a week! Still getting protien, water, vitamins, exercise...but stuck yet again, but this time i know it wont last and now that i can fit these other clothes, it doesnt seem to bother me as much as last time....

Ok so i got on the scale this morning 5 times just to make sure and it said i weighed 245!!!!! That's 5 less pounds then yesterday! WOOOHOO...

I got my Mice milk strawberries and cream :) YUMMMM i am so upset that they are not making it anymore. I can only drink one cup at a time, and i notice if i take too long to drink it it gets a little chuncky in the bottom. Like cottage cheese. So i have to close my eyes when i get to the bottom of the cup LOL.... I also got vanilla but i havent tried it yet.

I love shrimp, it is one of the easiest things to eat and tastes sooooo yummy with just a touch of cocktail sauce!

Ok so this was my first week back to work and all in all it was ok. I got tired easily, but i work with such great people that i was pretty  much able to stay at the front desk and do all of the paper work, documentation, and computer work. As far as drinking at work, i kept a water bottle and crystal light near me at all times and finished 30 0z per day. Now as far as food, for most of the week i brought my lunch, pureed shrimp salad, and 2 kinds of pureed chicken salad. The other day I went to the chow hall (cafeteria) and had soup. I tried a bite of mac n cheese, it was soft, but i just had a bite because i knew it wasnt a good choice for a "meal". 

Thursday i got on my gazelle for a FULL 30 mins GO ME GO ME WOOHOO LOL.....

Well it is one month today and i have to say other then learning how to eat again and of course eating less....i feel good as new....no i take that back even better then before because already with a 46 pound weight loss I already feel better like i have more get up and go!

I tell you for me this surgery has already changed my life. I can't wait until I get to my goal, i can only imagine the quality of life i will have and the energy to keep up with my kids!!!!!!!! And my hubby......

 OK so i FINALLY found a RTD protien i can drink!!!!!!! The bad news is i hear they arent going to make it any more ???WHY WHY WHY?? It is the Miceller Milk strawberries and cream!!!!!! It is not too thick and tastes oh so yummy (thanks Sheryl for the tip on this one)....i am going to buy a couple cases while i can! YAY at least i will have it for a while! With enough time to find a suitable replacement........

So i have noticed over the past week or so that my skin feels like very fine grit sand paper. Both my arms and my tummy. Luckily I had an appointment with my primary care manager today and he gave me 2 differnt types of cream to try with it and so far so good, the Eladil works better so far then the Eucerin. I also start the B12 injections, and he took baseline labs for me. Especially Iron, B12 and alot of other vitamins. 

Still at the same weight I have been for over a week now....what am I doing wrong? I get enough protien 60G per day, my calorie count is average 500, and I get in all the water at least 60 oz. I get on my gazelle for 15-25 min 4 times a week. I mean I know that there is going to be stalls but only 3 weeks out??? For so long? I have no idea if it doesnt resolve itslef soon I may call the surgeon.

Stuck in a rut

ARRRRRRRRRRR I haven't lost anything in the psat week?! Is that normal so soon (20 days)  after surgery? I only have 1/4c per meal (3 meals per day) it is all well under 500 cal per day, getting enough water. What's the deal? 

So my other problem which is really troubling me is that i have problems with the protien shakes. I have tried SO many different brands and they make me dump....shortly after i finsh them (takes about 1hr 15min for 6 oz) i start to feel tired, shaky, just all around BLAH and i have to lay down. So i switched to soy milk instead of milk with them, and same thing! How can i get in all of my protien if i cant drink the shakes?????? I do tolorate the protien bullets just fine, but they are so expensive, so i have to wait another week or two until we get our tax refund, then i am going to get a few cases. In the mean time i have been eating the HIGHEST protien food i can find. Ground crab meat only 3 oz of it has no carbs and 17G of protien!!!! So i get VERY close to my required 60G per day with my pureed food. WOW! I seem to tolorate food well, much better then the protien drinks anyways.

Any suggestions as to anyother protien drinks I can try?

This is what i have tried so far, and can't tolorate:

Achieve one vanilla nut RTD
Matrix cookies and cream powder with soy
SF carnation instant breakfast with soy
RTD Muscle milk light (choc and choc mint)
Unjury vanilla powder in cottage cheese
whey gourmet raspberry powder
elite chocolate powder with milk
nectar apple and fuzzy navel YUCK

Well I don't know what else to do? So i guess in the mean time i will try to eat my protien...i do keep track in a food diary to make sure i am at leat close to my 60G....yesterday i got ALL 60 in!!!!!

ok so i had a RTD protien drink today for breakfast, it was the kind that looks like it comes in a starbucks frapaccino bottle, it was vanilla nut flavor (had to add benefiber today) and took it real slow over 1 hr 15min and felt fine after.... so i guess like with anything else practice makes perfect! 

Have to really work on the water and liquids today because dehydration is trying to sneak up on me....so far so good.

 Ok so i guess i will take it as a lesson learned....yesterday afternoon i tried to drink my first protien drink with a whopping 38G of protien, it was a chocolate peanut butter one and actaully tasted like a sugar free peanutbutter cup, it was pretty good, all in all it was about 8 oz....well i thought i sipped, and it took a good 45 min to hour to finish this drink, mind you it didnt taste as good the warmer it got....well after i was done OH BOY...i wouldnt say i had dumping, just a very unpleasent "FULL" feeling....the best way i can describe it is if it were thanksgiving and you sat down to eat 5 plate FULL of food...........that oh boy i over did it and now i am going to pay the price kind of feeling. So note to self, only 1/2 of the shake at a time and put the other 1/2 in the fridge for later!!!!

So far I have tolorated well:
1) 1TBSP mashed potates thinned with 1 TBSP cream mush soup (strained)
2) 2 TBSP cream of wheat with 1 tsp vanilla protien powder, thinned with FF milk
3) 2 TBSP dannon light and fit carb&sugar control yogart
4) 2 TBSP banana SF pudding made with FF milk

I have switched from FF milk to Soy LITE because the sugars in the FF milk is 12G and that scares me, the sugars in soy is only 2G. I just don't want to chance it and dump! I am so afraid of dumping i just am not willing to push it. I LOVE spenda it gives me that sweet treat but no worries of dumping!

So far as far as protien supplents go....i can tolorate:

Unjury vanilla (leaves a sort of after taste and smell though, have to brush teeth right after i'm done)

Dymatize Nutrition...ELITE rich chocolate whey protien (added with 6oz soy milk light and 1TBSP reduced fat peanutbutter tastes like a PB cup)

Weighed in at 250 this morning.

So those are my thoughts for the day.......
