Apr 07, 2012

Well, i have been away from here for a while, we were in a major auto accident last year just before my 2nd Anniversary and I spent 10 days in the hospital having surgeries to repair destroyed and broken bones.  This anniversary will I hope be less eventful.  I have already had my 3 year check with my surgeon.  Who just removed my gallbladder.  No stones it just wasn't working properly and causing all kinds of problems.  He was very pleased with my progress.  Even 3 years out I am still losing weight.  The weight is coming off slowly so it is staying off.  I know some people who lost quickly and then put weight back on after surgery.  I feel very fortunate as I have had very little side effects and can pretty much eat anything I want.  I know my limits and do my best to stay within them.  Chocolate is my one weakness, but I have learned I can have a little occasionally,  I got a much better birthday present this year too.  My husband told everyone last year he got me a $10,000 knee.  So this year I got a much cheaper but better present a $1,200 toy Yorkie.  He is a doll!!
So far my total loss has been 155 pounds to date.  I have went from a size 26W to a size 16 (not W) and my shoe size went from a 14 to a 12.  No one thought my feet would shrink but they did and I still had old shoes in 12 that fit me!!

Men!!

Oct 22, 2009

Nicole and Lori, yes the man does exsit!  Believe me I have been in the same spot as far as men are concerned.  I thought I would never meet anyone so I gave up and resigned my self to being alone the rest of my life after my mother passed away.  Then not quite a year after she passed I met someone and we became friends that was all we were for a long time.  Then one day we realized that we cared for each other more than friends.  The problem was he lived miles away in Michigan and I was in Alabama.  (Yes, we met online!)  Well, to make a long story short he moved to Alabama on October 10, 2002 and we have been together ever since.  We married 2 years ago also on October 10 th.  He is the best thing that has ever happened in my life.  He is not perfect, don't get me wrong.  He screws up just like every other man but he loves me and that I know!  He encourages me in anything I want to do or try and he keeps me grounded when I get flighty..lol.  We help each other.  So, don't give up I am much older than you and if it can happen for me it can for you too!!

Excited!

Aug 05, 2009

This is such an exciting time for us!  We are moving to a new house, out of town into the country.  Six acres and it has an inground pool, which will be great for my arthritus as well as the weight loss.  I weighed today total loss,  62 lbs.  My hubby is asleep, I may wake him up to tell him...lol.  I have never really moved myself, (my parents always moved us when I was growing up)  for the most part I have lived in this house most of my life.  My grandfather built the house, then my parents and I moved in permanently after they passed that was in 1974.  My parents were living here with my grandparents when I was born, this is the address on my birth certificate.  I had planned on living here till I died, but things change, people change, neighborhoods change, but most important, I changed.
We were tired of being robbed (3 times in the past 3 years), I have always wanted to live out in the country, Steve will have room to have his Kennel and raise his dogs and we can have a much bigger garden, maybe even a cow (we will see).   This is our house, not my parents house or my grandparents.  Not a house I inherited, but a house we picked and bought together!  OURS!  We are so excited about the move and our first litter of puppies!  We have six babies that will be ready to go to new homes in about 3 weeks, when they are 8 weeks old.  They are so cute and sweet.  Well that's how things are going here.  I have photos of the new house and the puppies on my Facebook profile if anyone wants to see them send me a friend request and tell me you are from Obesity Help and I'll add you.  Good luck everyone and don't give up!

Wow!

Jul 22, 2009

Well, it's been a while since I wrote on here so it's time now.  So far I have lost 56 lbs since my surgery on April 14th.  I probably need to do a new picture.  I can really tell it in my clothes.  Clothes that were tight on my last winter are now getting really loose.  I can even put my feet up in the front window of the car now.  I could never do that before.  We are in the process of buying a new house out in the country and it has a swimming pool which will be great for my arthritus.  If we ever get to closing....lol.  I have been busy packing up stuff getting ready for the move.  Between that and our cocker having her puppies I hardly have time to breath...lol.
Well, time to get back to work.
Night all

3 week check today!

May 04, 2009

Well, I saw my surgeon today.  I am now officially on soft food, 3 meals a day and at least 64 oz of liquid a day.  According to their scales I weigh 340 which means I have lost 24 lbs.  I am going to buy me a set of scales so I can have a scale that is always the same.  I'll see Wednesday what my medical doctor's scales say....lol.  I got a little down after going to see him and seeing the difference in the weights...but I'm okay now.  It's working!

Still doing good!

May 02, 2009

Well, I go to my surgeon on Monday, but I weighed at the Orthopedist on Friday and I'm down to 330.  Wow, is my medical Dr gonna be surprised when he sees me next Wednesday.  My Orthopedist is sending me back to physical therapy for my knee, since I didn't get to finish last January when I got Bronchitus.  That way I can work on exercises that won't hurt my bones and maybe by June we will have the money to join the YMCA where I can do swimming and stationary bicycle.  This will help till I can have my hip surgery.  I think I'll re-frost my hair...when I do I'll do a new picture.

I'm home!

Apr 16, 2009

I came home late this afternoon.  Doing well, so far, still have some gas pains.  So far no pain from the surgery since I left the hospital.  They increased my intake today, as well as what I can have.  Boy my yogurt sure tasted good.  I don't feel hungry, which I suppose is good.  Well, I think I'm off to bed didn't get too much sleep in the hospital.

Almost there!

Apr 10, 2009

Well, I had my pre-op today.  Won't be much longer. Have I mentioned that I'm superstitous?  I know it's crazy, but I dreamt of my cousin who had this surgery 6 years ago and then passed away a few months later.  Then I dreamt (next night) of my aunt (also gone) and a lot of my cousins and their families (all living).  Maybe they are trying to tell me something.  I don't know, but I am telling them, I will do great, I am stubborn and will do wonderful.  I already have plans for the week after surgery...lol.  Princess is now a service dog and she has lots of places to see....Walmarts she has not visited yet...lol.  We will do that together and we will exercise together too.  We plan on starting with walking.  I have my walker ready.  Hmm, wonder if I can use a smaller suitcase for trips?   Nah, I can take more clothes with the extra room!!  Ok, I'll try to get on here as soon as possible after surgery.  Remember it is next Tuesday the 14th!!
