5 months post op - Haven

Apr 13, 2011

Last week it’s been 5 months since my surgery and the things looks much better.

For me the journey didn’t start as rosy as many but I m in a good place now.

I’ve lost little over 90 lb, 3 jeans and 4 top sizes and I feel good.

Right after the surgery, I was obsessed with the amount of proteins and liquid I “was supposed” to get in that I was making myself sick over it and didn’t lose weight at all (probably most of it was because the blood clots) but still…

Then I made a decision the hell with it, and stopped obsessed over it and I can take the results to the bank.

Don’t count the protein or the liquids, I m caution not to eat too much and this thing works wonders for me.

I got the results for the blood work back and everything is good, the weight is coming off and haven’t been sick or gag once for the last three months, so everything is good.

I m not near 60-80 gram protein a day but it is what it is and can’t argue with the results.

Not saying this is a recipe for success I m just saying works for me.

One thing I come to realize this past months, how little food do we really need every day.

I m still not hungry at all, but eat more than at the beginning. The weight loss slowed down some but still in the target range. Have more stalls more often but I take it.

The one problem I have is HAIR LOSS! I lost at least ½ of my hair, talk to the surgeon and he said is nothing can be done, it’s a temporary problem and the hair will come back once the weigh will stabilize, for me hope not any time soon, I still have 60-80 lb to go.

But as I come to learn in the recent months we can’t win them all can we?

Because of the complications I had right after the surgery I was almost convinced that I made a big mistake and I will be the 1% that won’t lose the weight, but as always time proved me wrong.

At this moment I have no regrets doing the surgery, especially when I can eat and drink everything I want, but still exercise my judgment to make smart food choices.

Still didn’t try to drink pop or alcohol but I was never a drinker anyway, the coke is a different matter, but I m being a good girl and stay away from it.

Started to drink coffee in the morning and sometimes I use a straw – not a problem.

The bottom line – SO FAR SO GOOD!!!!!!!! And this is a big deal coming from me… lol
