Exercise definitely makes a difference

Oct 05, 2012

So last week there was only swimming and I didn't walk and I gained a pound. This week there was swimming and walking and I'm down to 360 as of this morning. Now of course this isn't the official weigh in because I reserve those for Mondays but usually by Thursdays I've dropped weight and last week there was that gain and this week I'm down 5 from last week's Monday weigh in.  My scale goes up and down all week and I weigh in the morning and evening to see what the differences are. It doesn't make me nuts it's just a way of seeing what goes on with my body. Last night I weighed and I was 364 and this morning I'm 360.  This means that by Monday I will probably still be 360 if not a pound lower.

So to me this really proves that the exercise is needed to keep maintaining loss. I'm not really expecting to stall at this time because I'm still so heavy and my doctor said that the stall is not likely until I hit under 300 and even then she said it might not hit til I get to the 200s. But either way I do realize that no matter what I MUST exercise at least 3 times a week.

Next month will be a bit wonky because my workout buddy is having surgery so she will be cut back on exercise and I will still have to stay on track and hold myself accountable. Meaning I need to get my butt up and at least walk. I think I might do a temporary 6 week gym trial during that period and do some weight training. Adding muscle can only help and I need to get the upper body strength.

Another positive thing out of exercising is that Remy dog has lost 2lbs. He needs to lose 15 in my opinion so this is a start on the right track. He needs to be in tip top shape if I am going to work him as a herd dog. We have our first lesson with him sheep herding on Sunday and then Raleigh is going to herd ducks. I can't wait to get them out there to show their stuff. And it's another event where we all keep moving and get exercise and that's good for the whole family. :-)

Oh and I was looking at my arms yesterday and I took a picture of my left arm and sent it to my sister because it definitely looks skinnier! She agreed with me. So now I really need to do some measurements this weekend and document the inches that I've lost.
