Hi, my name is shawn and I am a 31 year old female with 2 kids. This is my story, I started this venture about 2 1/2 years ago and at that time I was thinking of having the Roux EN Y gastric bypass surgery. I really wish I would have known about this wondering web site back then. I went through all the pre-op evaluations and then back down at the last minute. I heard so many negative things about it that I allowed it to discourage me. So a few months ago and 20 pounds heavier than 2 years ago I start this venture once again. Now with the lapband in mind I do my research then I hear about this thing called the Duodenal Switch(DS) and I'm like yes that is for me. I've researched and researched and came across this website and found even more research. Now I'm currently going through my pre-op evaluations so I can get approved.
I really am excited about this time around and I have very special friends that I can talk to about it with thats actually been through what I've been through. I love obesity help and I hope one day I can be able to help the next person looking for help and guidance. Thanks to all my friends on here for your help and support and words of encouragement. I will keep you updated on how things go.
