Watching what you eating doesn't mean saying bye-bye

Aug 21, 2008

Watching what you eating doesn't mean saying bye-bye to your beloved takeout menu collection. Your regular takeout order from the Mexican restaurant on the corner or the pizza place with three kinds of crust shouldn't be a black hole of points values, said two of television's prominent dieticians and doctors. With a little caution, you can feed your craving for that quick meal and not spend the rest of the night working it off at the gym.

Body Fuel.... What to Eat Before a Workout!

Aug 12, 2008

Just as you'd fill up your car's gas tank before a road trip, it's vitally important to make sure your body has the right fuel to sustain you during a workout.

Proper nutrition, both before and after, will also "speed up recovery, protect you from fatigue and get you ready for the next workout,"

Baked Banana Splits

Aug 11, 2008

Baked Banana Split only 4 POINTS :-)
Ingredients
1 sprays cooking spray
4 large banana(s), ripe, peeled
8 oz canned crushed pineapple in juice, drained
2 Tbsp McNeil Nutritionals SPLENDA No Calorie Sweetener, divided
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup fat-free ricotta cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cups raspberries
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat a 9-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Place bananas in pan.

In a small bowl, combine pineapple, 1 tablespoon of Splenda and cinnamon; pour over bananas. Cover pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes. (Note: The canned pineapple is already sweet so omit the Splenda if you prefer.)

Meanwhile, in another small bowl, combine ricotta, remaining tablespoon of Splenda and vanilla; set aside.

Place one baked banana in each of four individual serving bowls and top each with about 2 tablespoons of pineapple sauce and 1/4 cup of ricotta mixture. Top each with 1/4 cup of raspberries. Serve immediately. Yields 1 banana split per serving.

I went to Wight Watchers today and it was a good meeting but I was up 1.2, but that is ok I still go and I am still on track. My oldest son started going to the gym with his Dad. It has been a god thing because he will be starting Jr. High in August. We need to keep our family healthy and active.

Weight Watchers

Jul 22, 2008

I joined Weight Watchers about a year ago (April 2007) and I just love it! It is not a diet it is a life style that anyone could do and stay on. My friend and I go to the meetings every week and it keeps us on track and accountable.
