Today is my 2 month surgery anniversary and I can say that this is the best ting that I have ever done for myself.  I have lost 25 lbs which compared to others is not much.  BUT the fact that I am 25 lbs lighter with Thanksgiving past and Christmas here is a big deal for me.  I am so happy with my new life and eating habbits.  I would pay for this surgery again in a heatbeat if I needed to

Today I reached that magical place known as Onderland.  Where all is happy and light.  This was my first goal and although I am barely across the border I am there. I feel kind of like a criminal stepping across the border to Mexico, I can see the cops, they can see me BUT I ESCAPED!!!  To date I have lost 23.5lbs.  Other than week one I have been losing about -2lbs a week steady but I am happy with that.   I may be a tortise but the tortise did finish the race after all. 
Life since surgery has been pretty easy for me.  I am lucky in that not much upsets my tummy and I am happy eating small portions.  I have not had any emotional issues with being unable to eat much so far.  I am still waiting to see if I end up with the hair loss or not.  I am hopeing that this slow weight loss will keep that from happening as I have thn hair.  HOWEVER if my hair gets thin allong with me so be it.
My next min goal is 10 lbs away.  That will put me smaller than I have been since I got pregnant with My 7 year old.  My next big goal is 25lbs away which will put me at just Overweight.  Hope to get there in about 3 months.

This week was better by far I have lost 3.5 lbs!  That is so exciting for me.  I am now 206.5 the first goal I have from the Dr is 204 and I hope to hit it next week.  As long as the numbers go down week by week I am ok with it though.  I dont have to loose 5-10 lbs in a week to be happy (although it would be awesome)  I just know that with the rate I am going in one year I wil feel so much better than I do now.  I am still hopeing for the 40 lbs lost by Christmas but if I don't make it I will not be heartbroken.

I posted my 3 week update to the message board but wanted to put it here as well since this is where I will be able to look back a year from now. 

Well I only lost .8 lbs this week.  My official weight is 210 so I have lost a total of 13 lbs since surgery.  I know it will get better and this is basically a stall but I hope that the scale starts moving more soon as this can be discouraging.  One thing though, I can't give up it is just not possible.  Actually my small stomach does not bother me in the least. I actually enjoy getting full quickly.  It makes me feel like I am more in control of my life for some reason.  Tonight DH and I had a rib-eye and I made some smothered potatoes to go with it.  Very good.  I only had about 3-4 oz of steak and about 2 -3 TB of the potatoes and I was pleasantly full.  What a change from before.

GRRRRR  I only lost ONE STINKING POUND THIS WEEK!   How is this possible.  I am barely eating anything.  I will start excercising some this week as it is finally allowed.  But I am so upset of this one pound.  It has to get better!  I am on mushies starting this week so I will try to focus on protein but it will be tough to eat mushy protein.

Went to the Doctor yesterday and I lost 12 lbs this week!  WOW I have not done that since I was a teenager.  I now weigh 211.  When we left the Doctors office my mom and I stopped at Chili's so I could get some Broccoli and cheese Soup.  That first bite was ambrosia!  Clear liquids are tough after day 3 or 4.  I have a lot of different ideas for creamy liquids this week so hopefully it will be easier.

Today I am actually going home.  I have been staying with my Mother In Law for the past few days since my surgery.  I did not think I would be up to taking care of my children.  I feel pretty good except being easily tired.  I have a feeling that it is the low calorie intake I have right now combined with my body healing from surgery.  But all in all I have felt much better than I ever expected to after having a large percentage of my stomach removed.

Well it is day 2 of my new life.  I feel pretty darn good too!  yesterday got a little hairy with heartburn but once I got some Prilosec (the Previcid did not last)  it was all good.  I slept all night without waking up for any meds and when I woke up I was feeling really good!  today has been pretty easy with very little soreness.  I have 5 cuts and the only one that bugs me at all is the one in my belly button since that is the largest one (my stomach came out there) At least I think it is the largest I cant see it   The other 4 cuts are so small about 1/4-1/2 inches each that even if I have scars i don't think they will be noticeable. 
I just realized that I have not eaten in almost 4 days and i am not hungry.  All I have had is water, apple juice, sf jelllo and a little sf green tea.  I think I will have some broth tonight.  I am not having any problems getting liquids in.

Well yesterday morning I was sleeved.  I started to panic a little about 10 mins before they put the IV in but once it was started they gave me the good stuff and I calmed down.  I stayed in the hospital untill 3:30pm then I was released to go home.  After I went home I felt pretty good for the whole afternoon just sore under my rib cage.  Dr Borland came by to check on me about 7pm to make sure I was fine.  This morning I woke up with some heartburn.  Boy did that hurt.  I took some Pepcid Complete and after 2 doeses I feel better.  Dr Borland came by this morning as well and will come back this afternoon to check on me again.  I asm very happy with the level of care that I am receiving and would reccommend him to anyone that ask. 

OK my nerves have officially started.  I was not nervous until today after I paid my 9K for surgery.  I do not think I will be able to sleep a wink for the next 2 nights.  I have so much to do and so much on my mind.  We went out to eat at Olive Garden and I said goodbye to unlimited Bread sticks with Alfredo Sauce and Pasta.  I am excited and can not wait for the next month to be over with LOL.  I know this will be the hardest time.  I am officially on clear liquids at this point (I guess for tonight the Margarita I am drinking qualifies as clear.    So I will update everyone again after my surgery and tell you how wonderful i am feeling LOL
