Not sure what took me so long :-)

Mar 15, 2010

Well...I am on track since the last post. Keeping up with my protein and sticking to my water restrictions. It really does work. Some of the times it is challenging, but most of all I feel like I am getting back to my post surgery self. Back under 200 lbs and never going back!!

I think I can...I think I can...I know I can!!

Mar 09, 2010

OK...so today is the day after the first day that I can honestly say I stayed on track!! If I did it once I can do it again. And helllllooo...it actually works if you just follow the rules. Lots of water....stuck with my water restrictions...focused on protein. That simple!! I also have a candy jar on my desk - My employees like to stop by and pick up a treat and chat...so I leave it there. I do a pretty good job of staying out of it, but lately I had been dipping into it a time or two or three a day! I am focusing on rewiring my brain to associate that with poison. Sure I could remove it, but leaving it there gives me a sense of control...I like control :-)

Still trying to find my mojo!!

Mar 09, 2010

OK - so I was ready....in gear....had the right mindset...But I have to get serious...seriously. So I stopped gaining and I even lost a few pounds. What I do recognize is that I am ignoring the root cause of the problem.....my resurfacing behaviors. Grazing, not drinking enough water, drinking with meals, not placing the focus on protein.....you get the point. So I paid the piper.....went to see the doctor. Now the interesting part is that my surgeon moved to another state - so I made an appt with the doctor that he worked with. I really liked him and he wasn't too hard on me overall. I do feel accountable.....I have to remember what got me to the unpleasant place of MO - and reinstitute what took me to a normal healthy weight. Today was a great day. Stuck to my water restrictions which is a big struggle for me...I ate/drank:

coffee -cream and splenda
water
two boiled eggs
water
water
handful of almonds
water
small salad with salmon
half roast beef sandwhich (whole wheat bread)
water
water - with vitamin D and calcium and b12....ooops forgot my multi with iron so that goes with dinner tonight....
coffe - cream and splenda

I am not going to starve to death...hello~~!! I am also thinking all the times I think I am hungry...I am probably actually thirsty..duh!

Adding some pictures

Dec 28, 2009

So one of the things I am doing to get back on track is rebuilding my profile to include pics. I don't have any before pics up here yet, but I am working on that. I have to say this is more motivating than I thought! Not only is it a nice reflection to see how far I have come, but it is a great motivator to remember where I will not go back!

Ahhh - end of the year and a new beginning

Dec 28, 2009

Why wait for the New Year's Resolution. I began looking for ways to get back on track. I have done this time to time over the last year or so while watching the scale continue to go up. A few weeks ago I got serious about it. I had to come to grips with things like Protein first means just that....and water restriction is really important. Those are the two biggest things in my mind that have contributed to my weight gain. My highest weight was 298! My lowest was 165. I had a breast reduction and a tummy tuck and there is no way I will allow further weight gain. I got back to following the rules of the pouch and it is working!! I did splurge over the holidays, but I still managed to loose 2 lbs!! I am done with New Year's resolution as I have already promised myself a resolution ....that resolution started on 5/20/2003!
