It finally happened...I have a date for surgery.    December 4, 2006 at 8:30.   It will be their second surgery of the day but Dr. Rawlin's first one that day.  How wonderful!!!!   I'm so excited to get this underway.  Plus it will be pretty great timing:  Thanksgiving will be over, the kids and I will get the house decorated for Christmas the following weekend and when I get home  from the hospital I'll be able to recuperate in merrily lit, medicated bliss.  haha  ,

Six weeks to get ready and about all that needs doing here at home is more 'once a month' cooking for the family.  My post-op food box is ready to go and filled with protein powders, broth, pill crushers, and other assorted necessities.  I even still have the abdominal binder from the VBG surgery.   It sure has been a thrilling week!

Dare I say it...APPROVED!!!!  It feels like an eternity since I've been actively seeking revision surgery and today came the unofficial word from TriWest  for approval.  Still no letter yet and no word from Dr. Rawlins' office because they may not have heard yet themselves.  Hope I am not jinxing myself but knowing this much has been accompished it is hard not to want to tell everybody how excited I am.  With a noticeable exception...my parents and in-laws.  Don't know when to tell them as I think they will not approve.  They weren't very happy about the VBG in '99 and may be less happy about the revision. ?? Well, my husband is cautiously supportive and the kids are too so that is a start.   Even co-workers are pleased for me, that's a nice feeling.  How wonderful to be on the path to better health and a seat on the losers bench with so many of you wonderful people out there on OH.
