I finally went to the surgeon yesterday! I am down to 219! I am so happy. My surgeon was happy as well. I am nine months out and lost over 100 pounds. I never thought I would see this day! I want to get to 184 and be down at least 10 - 12 lbs by my next appointment on the 13th od September. I hope everyone is doing well. Stay focused and see you at the finish line.

I am now four and a half months post op and down a total of 76 pounds!!! I am too thrilled. I can’t believe I am actually losing weight and just 25 pounds away from the century weight loss mark! This ride is unreal. I still don’t feel like I have lost 76 pounds I don’t even feel like my clothes are any smaller but I am happy even though my mind hasn’t caught up with my body. My goal is to be down at least 13 pounds when I see my surgeon next month and to be going to the gym every day that I am able. I can only imagine what the results would be if I were actually exercising.
I don't know if this counts but...

I think I had a wow moment. This weekend I went to visit my mother and she had bags of clothes that she was going to donate to AmVets. They were a bunch of XL shirts and things from NY& Co., JcPenny's, sears. etc. I thought I would just try one or two things on so that I could see how much longer it might be until I could wear those sizes. I would just take whatever I thought might fit in a month or two. Well I tried a turtle neck of all things on and...IT FIT! I haven't worn a misses XL or a turtle neck since elementary school. It felt sooooo good! I am also dropping weight still even though I am eating more and not working out. Bad bad me...I am not doing what I am suppose to I know. As soon as the come up with brain bypass I am signing up.

Ok so my scale at home and at work is moving. Since the scales at work and at home are giving me similar results, I am going to trust my scale more. Today I am around 292! If this holds true when I visit my surgeon on January 2nd then I will be very happy. I feel cute again and I am starting to look like my mother. She is beautiful to me. Of course, I will update once I see my surgeon.

Today I will be 6 weeks out and in the gym. I have been so excited about that. I think I will finally see some serious number dropping once I start that. I have free access to the gym on base. I went there quite a few times before surgery and you would be surprised at how un-intimidating it is. I thought it would be all these super athletes with perfect military bodies but it mostly regular people ranging from super fit to just like me. LOL I actually enjoy it there. My apartment complex is building a community center and it looks like it should be ready very early 2007. I can't wait because they are going to have a small gym in there. Then I will really have no excuse for why I can't workout. I really want to be a gymaholic. I want to crave exercise like I use to crave food. (Okay I still do, I just don't get to indulge the cravings.)
Oh yes and NO MORE BINDER!!!!!!!!
4 Weeks, 2 Days Post-op!

I ordered 2 jars of unflavored Unjury this week and used it for the first time today. I added a 1/2 scoop to my mid-morning yogurt. It was pretty gross but I will continue to do it. I haven't come this far to make excuses like I have before. I need to do this so that I can be successful.
I can't wait to have this binder off! It rolls up on me at night and can be quite painful. My incision looks really good. I don't think there will be much to notice once it fully heals. I have stretch marks where he cut so it just kind blends in. lol I don't go back to see my surgeon until after the New Year on the 3rd. I will try to make all my appointments for Wednesdays so that I can attend the support group meetings.
My home scale appears to be moving down! I don't trust the numbers so I just look for a downward trend. I want to have one of those basal metabolic rate tests done to see how many calories you actually burn a day just by living and breathing. The put a mask on you and a computer monitors things and generates a number. I know I can find online calculator but I want a more accurate number. One website says 2000+ calories and another told me 3000+. So which one is closer to being correct???
