Offically 2 months post-op DS

Sep 15, 2009

Ok, I am offically 2 months post-op DS and I weighed myself this morning. The last time I weighed myself was a little over a week ago and I was 208.4. Today I was 206.4, so I am down another 2 pounds. Let's just hope that it stays off. I think I'm losing in inches even though the weight on the scale hasn't changed. Does that make sense?

I am so heartliy sick of chicken. It seems that's all I eat. So, last night I made a steak, which was pretty good. Tonight I am making a lean ground pork meatball with tomato sauce. My daughter can have the pasta with it. I don't need no stinking pasta...LOL. However, I've also gone back to strickly weighing my food for meals. That way I know I'm not going over. However, it's still hard to eat the amount that I'm supposed to eat at each meal. I really can't eat a meal for breakfast, so I've taken to eating a protein bar, which is between 13 & 15 grams of protein per bar. Only problem is that it has around 22 grams of carbohydrates per bar too. So I have to be really careful the rest of the day about my carb intake.

I am back to having problems stomaching my protein shakes. I am forcing myself to drink them, but it's hard. Yesterday I made my shake really strong with hot water and after it was all shaken up I poured it over ice to dilute it a bit. I didn't get it all in during the day, so I am drinking it again now. There has to be something easier out there.

I also sometimes forget to take my multivitamins and don't always get all my calcium in. I get most of the calcium most days. However, I try to take the multivitamins at night, but have to wait 2 hours from the last calcium dose. Sometimes I just fall asleep before I get to them I'm so tired. I've tried taking them in the morning when I get my daughter off to school because I go back to sleep for a couple of hours, but I just am not really able to stomach much first thing in the am. I will get it though....eventually.

I know that most days I'm not getting 64 ounces of fluid in. I sip on my protein shake all day long adding ice to it throughout the day, so maybe I am getting it all in. However, I think that some days I'm closer to 48 ounce than 64. I have not gotten dehydrated yet, so maybe I'm ok.

As far as the food goes, I'm just tired of making the same thing all the time. Any ideas of easy recipes for high protein foods?

I hope I can reach my goal of a size 14 by Christmas. Just seems that it's not going to happen because my weight loss has slowed so much. BTW I'm a size 18 now. I also wanted to get into a gym soon, but money has been so tight that I can't afford it yet. Probably won't be able to until October 1 or so, which sucks.
