I'm really not mad, actually I have been pretty calm this past week, even tho I feel like I am running out of time to get this all done.

Last week I met my new doctor, she's great, she took copies of EVERYTHING I had and had me get medical records from back in 99 when I lived in Oregon faxed over to her because my then Dr. had me taking Phentramine for weight loss. I mentioned that I wanted a date before the end of the year cause you never know when an insurance company is going to change it's policy on baraitric surgery, she said ok and made a note of it, haha. She said I was on the ball with all the info that I still needed and that I was going to be her poster child cause she had so many people coming in and wanting this surgery but have no idea what to do. 

I got a letter from my insurance company today they said they were going to need a 14 day extension so they can get more info from dr supporting why I needed the surgery.

Tomorrow at 8:30 am to go over the results of my second sleep study and talk about my Cpap machine that I need.

I will update tomorrow

to see if my insurance approved the surgeon consult and today the girl I talked to said it hasn't been approved yet, but it just got to the medical directors desk yesterday and that I shuld have an answer on Monday. So Everybody please send positive thoughts my and thier way for an approval.

My info was submitted to the insurance company just yesterday but I went ahead and called to make sure they had recieved everything they needed, the lady on the other end of the phone said I needed to wait 3 days and call back. So I will be calling back on Monday to see whats going on.

My Doctor just called and said she faxed all of my info over to my insurance company.....YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I guess I just wait? When can I call them and check?

Doing the happy dance and hoping I get the ok to have the psych eval and surgeon consult.

Diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea getting CPAP

After 7 months of thinking that I knew what I was doing and doing wht was required by the insurance company I now am pretty sure I know where I'm going with this process....

The lovely ladies at the Guidence Center here in Flagstaff have been so wonderful and have gone beyond thier duties for me, I just got off the phone with Carol from the center and she told me that she contacted my insurance company to figure out the Psych eval confusion and after being passed all around the company she  was told I had everything I needed and that I have to submit that info to get the psych eval and surgeon consult which both have to be done in Phoenix (news to me) this is the opposite of what I have been being told since way back in Feb. I saw my pcp on Fri. and she was going to start getting copies of all the things I have done so we can submit them to the insurance company that was before I found out about the new info, I I tried calling her but she is out til tomorrow "figures" so I left a msg for her to call me. Hopefully if all goes well we can have them sent in before the weeks over, oh did I mention she is retiring at the end of the month so I have to find a new Dr. at that time to make the 3rd Dr. I have seen since I started all this...oh well as long as everything gets done right I don't care who I see.

Because of some"confusion" at the Psyciatrists office I had to reschedule my appointment AGAIN, so instead of getting the eval. tomorrow morning I had to reschedule it for the 8th of Nov.

I was all ready to get this over with and be able to submit my info to the insurance company on friday at my next Dr's appt.

When I began this process back in Feb. I knew it had taken many people over a year from start to finish to get approved and I said to myself that wasn't gonna be, but now itg's starting to feel like it will take forever....

I just have to keep telling myself this

Well turns out I have moderate sleep apnea, I honestly had no idea! I had to go back in and do another overnight study this time I had to wear the mask all night, I will admit I did sleep better that time. So the results have been sent over to my regular Dr. and she has to start the process for me to get the CPAP brought to my home. I'm wondering though does this diagnosis help my chances of being approved for Surgery? 

Oh I also changed my mind again and I think I am going to go back to having GBS, I'm going to wait until I can talk to my surgeon before I make the final verdict.

Ok, I did the sleep study on the 10th and all I can say id man what a PITA that was, first off I am a side sleeper and I was told I had to stay on my back, so I laid there from 10:30  till god knows when trying to make my selfself fall asleep, I finally said the hell with it and rolled over on my side and finally fell asleep only to be woken up what seemed like instantly to GOOD MORNING JENNIFER!!!! OY!

I have to go back in on the 20th I guess to go over my results I'm not sure on that so I need to call cause the girl who monitored me said I had some respitory distress while I dozed in and out of sleep and she mentioned something about I'd have to do it again and next time I would have to wear the mask all night...

Then today I had a  follow up with my regular Dr. for my 5th month diet, I lost 3 pounds since the last tie I saw her, she also said that after reviewing my lab results from my previous Dr. that there is no reason why I should be taking any meds of any kind but she wondered if I would be interested in taking Meridia to see if that helps me until I have the surgery, so now Ijust have to wait and see if my insurance will cover it. 

After that I went straight to my Nut. appointment and to make a long story short, she told me," I THINK YOUR A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR LAP BAND SURGERY!"......YES!!!!!!!!!!!

So I will see her again when I get approved for the surgery to discuss pre and post op eating with the band, I am soooooo excited.

Now I just have to wait for my Psych eval which got moved back to the 17th of october.
