Monday, I had Circumferential Abdominoplasty, everything went great, and the procedure was about 4 hours long.  I spent the night in recovery and had very little issues with pain surprisingly, just tightness from the stitches and some stinging but no major pain issues.

Tuesday morning, I was discharged and was able to get up and move around a little, I am shuffling around very slowly like an old man but I am moving.

Today Wednesday, I am feeling good, there isn’t much pain and I am moving around as much as I can the stitches are tight but it gets easier the more I move around. I’ve gotten up several times and made coffee and done a few light tasks. I am taking my meds and emptying and documenting my drains. I have a follow-up tomorrow with the surgeon. All in all the surgery was a success.
 

ARGH!!!!!

Yesterday was a long morning,  I have a followup appt on thursday. 

Heading to pre op admission this morning, My Tummy Tuck is scheduled for Monday, October 1st, I am getting a little nervous about it all. I am not so nervous about the surgery itself, but all that will go into play afterwards.

I am fiercely independent and hate that feeling of not being able to do for myself and having to be dependant on others. One memory that stays with me to this day is right after I had VSG surgery, I wasn’t able to put my sneakers on when I was leaving the hospital and someone had to do it for me.  My aunt laughed and shook her head as I made the attempt but wasn’t able to. I can laugh about it now but in that moment it wasn’t funny and I know I am going to find myself in that place again.

Loss of independence is never a good feeling especially when you are a bigger person; you overcompensate naturally because you don’t want people to view your size as a limitation on what you are able to do.

I am rambling but needed to loosen up the girdle a little LOL.

Just got off the scale and I am floored, I am over my goal weight of 180, So I am officially in maintenance now.

I am thrilled and also feeling a little sentimental. My mind is flooding now with so many memories of this journey, A journey that has not only changed my life but surely saved it as well.

This journey began for me at 336lbs, I wore a size 48/50 pant and a 3xl shirt, just a little over a year later I now wear a size 32 pant and an M/L shirt.  Words cannot convey how grateful I am. I have learned so much about myself, I am stronger, more disciplined. Forever Changed....Forever.

So long since I have updated, had a few stalls here and there but I am inching along towards my goal of 180lbs.  So now In total I have lost 151lbs.

In the past 2 weeks I’ve had a 1 year post op follow op and all is well and my surgeon referred me to plastic surgery for evaluation.

The plastic surgery eval went great and I am a perfect candidate for a tummy tuck which is the only thing that my insurance will cover. My belly looks all melted and hangs like a peplum LOL, I am grateful that they will do so.  I will look into paying for the chest surgery myself. My tentative surgery date is October 1st so i am preparing mentally and physically for it all.

All in all I am loving my new life and loving and honoring my sleeve.

Ive increased exercise and left the gym this past weekend feeling like a truck had hit me. Ive got 1 month left and I think I stand a good chance of pulling this off and reaching my goal of 180 by June 23rd.
