Diet day 9 of 14.

Commentary on yesterdays diet:

2/1/2010

Yesterday was the most difficult day for me so far.  I was depressed, tired, PMS set in, and cranky.  So I ended up cheating, I ate a tortilla.  I beat myself up over it the rest of the day and quite frankly wish I had not eaten it.  Other than that I stayed to the diet.  A tortilla can you believe it!   I was doing so well!

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of peaches w/ decaff coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:

4 oz of Opah fish seasoned with Ms. Dash Lemon pepper, 2 c. (precooked measurement) carrots cooked until tender and lightly buttered and peppered.

Dinner:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of peaches.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Commentary on yesterdays diet:

Missed my am protein shake, was not hungry for lunch but ate anyway...did drink my pm protein shake.  Still very tired, and fighting lots of gall bladder pain.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of mixed fruit w/ decaff coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:

4 oz of Baked Turkey seasoned with Ms. Dash tomato basil garlic, 2 c. (precooked measurement) fresh uncooked carrot sticks.

Dinner:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of mixed fruit.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Diet day 7 of 14 half way there!

Commentary on yesterdays diet:

I had a difficult time finding clear protien drink and the one I did find was horrible.  So instead I opted to try soymilk with my protein to see if the milk is causing the issue.  Either way I still am not hungry and have to force myself to eat my meals.  I am begining to think maybe I am comming down with something... but I am only tired and not hungry there are no other symptoms.  I even made homemade tortillas and chili for my hubby and had no desire to even taste.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of peach wedges w/ decaff coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:

4 oz of Baked Ahi Tuna seasoned with Ms. Dash lemon pepper, 2 c. (precooked measurement) mixed veggies boiled until soft then lightly sauteed with smart balance butter and seasoned with pepper.

Dinner:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of peach wedges.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Commentary on yesterdays diet:

I found that once again I was not very hungry all day and I have lost 13 lbs in 5 days of this diet.  After my gall bladder attack last night I am going to the health food store today to find a clear liquid protein that I can use instead of mixing mine with milk. All in all things are still going pretty smoothly as far as the diet is concerned, I am grateful that I started weaning myself into this diet well before it officially started, otherwise I might really be struggling right now.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of blueberries w/ decaff coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:

4 oz of baked Chicken seasoned with Ms. Dash lemon pepper, 2 c. (precooked measurement) green beans boiled until soft then lightly sauteed with smart balance butter and seasoned with pepper.

Dinner:
Protein Drink and a 1/2 serving of blueberries.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Gall Bladder pain!!!

I am on my pre-surgical diet day 5...I don't eat very much for lunch and then two protein shakes a day made with 1% milk... I thought I would be ok with my gall bladder since there really is not much fat in anything I am eating/drinking, but man was I wrong.  I guess because I am not normally much a a milk drinker this is because of the protein shakes twice a day I didn't think about what it could/would do to me, and tonight I am having a bad time with my gall bladder pain and it is even a bit different.

When my gall bladder flairs up, it actually feels like I am having a heart attack, in the begining it was quite scary because I didn't know what it was, but tonight the same pain only it also was in my left arm pit which was new.  It lasts anywhere between 1 minute and 30 minutes...Now I have the worst case of acid reflux going on...grrr!!!  I was sleeping sooo soundly when it flaired, and I needed the sleep too. :-(

Tomorrow I guess I will head to the health food store and find a protein that will taste ok with water only.  11 days and counting and I won't have a gall bladder anymore... I can't wait!!!

DRINK MORE WATER!!!

My biggest goal today and ongoing is to drink more water.  This has been the hardest part of my journey so far...I just simply don't think about it during the day. Soooo...I have set my phone calendar alarm to go off every hour so that I develop the habit of keeping my water with me.

1/28/2010 Commentary on yesterday's diet: 

The day went well, other than being tired which I presume comes from the diet and lack of sleep from the night before. I still cannot finish all of my lunch, I am going to cut the veggie portion back to 1 ½ cup simply because that seems to be what I am eating consistently. If it turns out that I need that extra ½ cup I can easily heat it up and eat it rather than cooking too much and it going to waste.

Pre-surgical diet day 5 of 14.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Shake and a ½ of an apple w/ decaf coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:
4 oz baked salmon seasoned with dill and Ms. Dash Tomato, basil, garlic, 1 1/2 c. (precooked measurement) green beans boiled until soft then lightly seasoned with pepper and a touch of Smart Balance butter.

Dinner:
Protein Shake and a ½ of an apple.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Commentary on yesterday's diet: 

Yesterday I was depressed and wanted to cry most of the day. I found it difficult to eat at all but knowing the importance of it I met my diet…my tummy was queezy after each meal but I made it through the day. Not sure what it was all about but I hope I feel better today. 

Pre-surgical diet day 4 of 14.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Shake and a ½ of an orange w/ decaf coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:
4 oz grilled turkey burger patty seasoned with Ms. Dash garlic & herb, 2 c. (precooked measurement) broccoli boiled until soft then lightly seasoned with pepper.

Dinner:
Protein Shake and a ½ of an orange.

Lots of water throughout the day.

Funky mood

Today was a wierd day.  I was in a funky mood all day and could not seem to want to do anything from the moment I got out of bed...including eat.  When it came to eating my lunch (which is my big meal) I ate it, but afterwards had an upset stomach.  I didn't want to have my evening protein shake and fruit, but I ate it anyway.  I acutally think I am fighting a bit of depression, because I also felt tired, cold and I wanted to cry all day ...and didn't have a clue as to why. I wonder if it is the presurgical diet ... or just simply me, either way I hope tomorrow is better, I don't like this feeling.

Commentary on yesterday's diet: 

Yesterday went very well, Surprisingly, I did not get hungry at all. I think eating dinner for lunch worked out very well and made all the difference in the world. I was worried that I would wake up starving this morning, and I was wrong.  No hunger pains.

Pre-surgical diet day 3 of 14.

Today's menu will consist of the following:

Breakfast:
Protein Shake and a 1/2 serving of blueberries w/ decaff coffee and a small amount of fat free creamer (the coffee comes into play about 30 min after the meal is over).

Lunch:
Protein - 4 oz of baked Chicken seasoned with Ms. Dash garlic & herb, 2 c. (precooked measurement) green beans boiled until soft then lightly sauteed with smart balance butter and seasoned with pepper.

Dinner:
Protein Shake and a 1/2 serving of blueberries.

Lots of water throughout the day.
