Had the psych consult and the nutrition counseling yesterday.  The psych appointment was quick and painless.  He asked a few questions, made sure I understood the risks vs. benefits and that this was a lifelong change.  He said that I was mentally stable for the surgery!  One hurdle down!  The nutritionist was wonderful.  He explained everything very clearly and we could ask questions as we went through each week's food choices.  The vitamins are not that bad: two chewable vitamins a day and one B12 along with some calcium citrate.  We're 22 days away from having surgery...  

Four weeks from today (01/28), my daughter and I will be having RNY surgery...  I am a little nervous, mainly about the IVs, but not scared.  I know this is the best decision for me to help me live a more normal (aka healthy) life.  We both have our psych and nutrition counseling appointments next week, with pre-admission tests on 01/19.  The next four weeks are going to go by quickly with all these appointments and getting ready for surgery.
