6 month pre-op program has begun!

Apr 03, 2011

Hello :)  Well, I have enrolled in the 6 month pre op program and have meeting #2 coming up in 2 weeks.
The Dr. at the first meeting was a sweetheart but she will be leaving soon to begin her own practice.  Will miss her :(

She wanted me to eat no more than 1600 calories a day and to record everything I ate.  Also, to practice chewing food slowly and into the tinest pieces.  Two weeks are down and I think I only recorded 3 days worth.  Plus, I have been eating too much.  I AM SERIOUS ABOUT WLS but I think I have just been stressed, nervous because so much is going on.

My goal for the next 2 weeks is to calm down, track what I eat as best as I can and practice my chewing more.

If I gain weight then they will think I'm not ready :(  So nervous though.

Sorry this isn't a great post....Just my feelings...and I have my 2.5 yo son tuggine on my shoulder and trying to get my computer mouse :)

XO
Kim :)

OK...Time to do something!

Feb 16, 2011

Wow, I cannot believe I first signed up for this site over 3 years ago!  Since then I have been reading your wonderful posts...good experiences and bad experiences.  I love seeing the wonderful transformations and reading about the heathier lifestyles.

Anyway, since I signed up I have been yo-yoing galore and I'm tired of it.  Someone's post here says that they "are so happy that they don't have to obsess about food anymore."  I would love to not be hungry all the time and have food occupy my mind.  I know if I chose WLS that the beginning will be rough and I'm sure I'll obsess over food.  But I'm hoping that it goes away after a while and I can focus on life itself.

Still in the research stage.  Bummed as the hospital is having a seminar in 2 days but I have no one to watch the kids :(  Didn't realize they are home from school that day.  I am just ready to learn more about the risks and get this ball rolling.

My Mom had GBP over 10 years ago...before they did it laprascopically.  She lost over 125 lbs but has probably gained back 50.  She still is a lot smaller than what she started out as.  Plus, she didn't go to support for long, or exercise, or eat well.  She went back to her old habits...I know it's hard.  Anyway, after years of fighting this battle I'm ready to talk to Doctors.  We'll see what happens :)
