My story is probably similar to many of yours. When I was around 10 yrs. old I noticed that I seemed to be somewhat bigger than my classmates, friends, etc. I assumed that I would always shed the extra pounds yet I continued to add more weight every year. Looking back now I realize that I was in denial about my weight; I knew I was heavy but I never realized how heavy I was until my mid twenties and topping the scale at almost 300 lbs. After trying several failed diets I started looking into getting an RNY procedure to assist me in losing weight. I had my original RNY in December of 2002. After having my original RNY, I went from 315 lbs to about 200 lbs. Needless to say I was ecstatic, but due to several "life changes" many of my old triggers started to creep back into my life. In 2008, I started researching the possibility of having a revision as it seems that I was chasing 300 lbs and that was a goal I quickly realized I did not want to attain. So after finding my surgeon, Dr. Hixon, I made the decision to revise my original RNY to a fobi pouch and now my new journey has begun as of June 1, 2009.
