I GOT APPROVED!!!

Apr 26, 2007

I don't believe it. Kristi called this morning to tell me I was approved. I was like are you serious??? I started crying. I'm so scared and excited at the same time. This is all happening so fast. It was just a month ago that I went to my doctor to consult him about doing it and now I'm approved and hopefully will be having the surgury in early July. I could get in sooner but my kids have summer ball through June and I don't want to miss that.

Physcological Eval

Apr 25, 2007

Well, I called a local place to have my eval done. I live just over an hour from my Dr's office and I wanted to try to save a little gas. BIG MISTAKE! I called the office, told them want I wanted done and they said no problem. I went in last Tues for the intake to take all my info and decide which physco dr (LOL) to have me see. Well it went great with her and see wished me luck and thanks to a cancellation, I was able to get in the next morning. I was excited at this point. I went back the following morning to see this Dr. Well, this is where it turns bad. This Dr said she couldn't do the eval because she was a phyciatrist and not a physcologist. I showed her the paperwork from Kristi that said that either or could do it and she was like, I still can't do it. Then to make it even better, she goes on to tell me that they (the center I went to) don't even do physcological evals. I was like, then why didn't someone tell me sooner, like when I called to make the first appointment or while I was in doing the intake yesterday? And then the most interesting question, why does it say that they do physcological eval in the yellow pages in their ad??? I think this so called phyciatrist needs to see one herself. They said they would fax what they did do to Kristi and I'm hopeful that it will be enough but I have a feeling I will be heading to Toledo to the physcologist that is recommened from my Dr. So much saving any gas, now I've wasted twice as much. I hope the road gets a little easier from here.

The beginning.

Apr 11, 2007

Well, here I am. Beginning something I have gone back and forth about for so long. I went to my first seminar last night. Dr. White seems to be an amazing Dr. who really seems to care about his patients. His first impressions were impressive. I can't say I learned anything new during his presentation because I've done so much research on my own that I already knew most of what he was saying. What did impress me was the patient who came in to tell about her experiences. She is 10 months post op and looks great. I was more impressed listening to her because she was someone real with real stories and had similar fears in her beginning that I'm having now. It was very inspirational.

Now I guess I get to play the waiting game. I will have to wait a few weeks to get in to see my psychologist for my evaluation. Then hopefully an approval from the insurance and I'll be on my way to a new, healthier life. Wish me luck!!!
