Hi there! I'm currently 245lbs, happily married, have one child. I currently live in victorville CA and I'm a nurse. Well like many of us I have been over weight just about all of my life.I can remember everytime my mom took me to the doctor's office, they would always say Lynette you are over weight you need to loose some weight or you are going to have health problems at a young age, so of course I hated going to the doctors office.I'm currently seeking to have rny done very soon. I recently developed hypertension and that scares the heck out of me. Diabetes runs in my family. My ankles & feet swell if I stand for long periods of time.I have no energy half of the time. My back and knees hurt all the time. So here I am morbidly obese & reaching out for help, I'm both excited and a little nervouse about having gastric bypass surgery. I have been on all types of diets, I've lost weight, but I gain it all back plus some! I'm truly blessed that my insurance covers this type of surgery. I want to be here for my family and future grandkids.

I'm at the beginning of this journey. I have been thinking about weightloss surgery for some time, I have finally decided to have the wls. I mentioned the surgery to my pcp and he thought it was a good choice for me since I now have been official diaganosed with hypertension and my bmi is 41.2. So he said he would make the referral to preventive medicine and he did. One month later I got an approval letter to attend the options program which is a 24 week class, which meets once a week.This class is mandatory per my insurance provider. I am currently on class 24 which I graduate Oct 31st,2007

. I still have to attend one seminar and one support group which is the surgeons requirement I have decided to have my wls at crown in riverside CA. I also have to still get my lab work done,chest xray and ekg. I'm trying to decide when I want to have the surgery done, thats why I haven't done my labs because they are only good for 90 days. I had my labs drawn today. Man that was alot of blood they took from me wow!

I finally finished the 6 month class that was required by my insurance. I'm so glad that part is over with, I'm getting so excited ,the process is almost over with. Now I have to attend a seminar and a support group, that's a requirment that the surgeon wants. So I will keep yall posted.

Hello again! I'm scheduled to do my seminar on dec 10/2007. No date yet for my support group.

Today I had my ekg and it was fine thank GOD. I also had my chest xray, I don't know the results of that yet. Hope all is well. Now I have to wait for my pcp to sign off my chart.

I attened Dr. Suh's seminar today. Wow he gave alot of good information about the surgery. Still waiting on my authorization #.

I went to my first support group today. It was great! I got my authorization letter today. I go for my consultation with Dr. Suh on 3/13/2008 I'm so excited.

Hello all! I had my consultation with the surgeon, Dr. Suh today. All went well, he just looked over my chart gave my some more information about the surgery and the requirements. I had a way in of my weight I have not gained any weight and I have not lost any weight .I was given a card to schedule my psych. evaluation. I called and maid my appointment for 3/18/2008. I will keep yall posted. Once I'm cleared by the licensed psychotherapist I will then get a surgery date.

I had my psych eval today. It went well, I passed! Now i just wait for the report to be giving to my surgeon,so i can be scheduled for surgery.

I'm finally scheduled for surgery on 04/16/2008. Wish me luck. i've started on my no carb diet that my surgeon instructed me to do, wow it is so hard. I'm trying to get my protein in but it's so hard, because I don't like the taste of the protein drinks. Any suggestions?

well I had my pre-op visit with my surgeon, not to much happened at this visit, I just had my way in I lost 2 pounds only, well I'm glad I haven't gained weight or he would of had canceled my surgery. I also pre registered at the hospital, the hospital looks nice, not like kaiser, but it will do. I had my last set of pre-op lab work, hope all is well with them. Well til next time take care.
