After a week a good restriction and a honeymoon with my second fill, I began to have trouble.  I was very tight and in severe pain.  I was able to get an unfill on 2/6/09.  I took until 2/12 for the pain to go away.  I think that some of my medications may have irritated my pouch in addition to the physical pain from a too-tight band.  Going to wait until the 27th before I get a new fill.  I plan on being very conservative with maybe only 2cc.

Had my second fill today of 5 cc.  Starting to get a little worried because I still feel no real restriction and my hunger has come back with a vengeance.  Didn't realize that the doctor removes the previous fill and starts fresh every time.  That was different.  Just keep trying to do my best and hope I get a handle on this thing soon.

Tomorrow is my first fill.  What a way to start the New Year!  Post-op pain and swelling is almost gone but my hunger has returned.  Did pretty well controlling my eating during the holidays, so hopefully the fill tomorrow will give me a jump start for the new method of eating (1/2 cup 5Xs/day).  Eating 5 times a day during the work week will be tough, not so bad on the weekends.  The thing I'm most concerned about is not drinking with my meals.  I only drink iced tea so giving up carbonated beverages won't be any problem, but I ALWAYS drink iced tea and lots of it when I eat.  Yikes!

Well, I have decided not to wait any longer for Humana.  I'm moving ahead with the Lap Band procedure on December 11, 2008.  It's not what I really wanted but I'm going to try my hardest and make this tool work for me.  Many people have been successful with the band and I'll do my best to join them.
