So...I went for my consultation with Dr Macik and all that he really told me was that I needed to get dates for my clearance tests before we can schedule surgery. So right after my appointment, I started calling to schedule all clearance tests. So after I got all those scheduled, I called back to give them the dates and the gave me Pre-op on 06/22/2009 and Surgery on 06/24/2009.

06/10/2009 Pulmonary Clearance
When I got the ultrasound done today, I remembered that I actually had ribs. I guess they were so hidden by my squishy stomach that I never thought about them. But, I did feel the pressure from the ultrasound machine on my ribcage today. Hmmm, so I guess I'm going to either be uncomfortable or grossed out during all of my visits (the next visit is the Upper GI w/barium which I heard is disgusting). But I can't wait!!!

So, in the midst of waiting to have surgery, I decided that it's time to move. I wanted to move alot earlier, but things don't always go as planned. So, I will be moving on May 2nd and my appointment with Dr Macik is May 4th. I have so much stuff and my work schedule is so late, I just hope to be unpacked and settled before surgery...we'll see.

Finally getting somewhere

Ok, so I know it's been a while...I finally finished all of the requirements of the insurance company for my 10 visits to see a behavioral health therapist, attend outside support groups, and 4 months of nutrition visits. I started in Jan 2009 and finished all my visits on April 1st. I received my approval from the insurance company on April 15th (saw the status online at about 10pm...if the status was updated earlier in the day, I would have been making calls to schedule appointments that day). So on April 16th, I made a call to Dr Macik's office (surgeon) for my consultation visit for surgery. The earliest appointment that they had available was May 4th, which is longer than I was hoping...but it's all good. I was just hoping to have surgery in May, now I don't think that it'll happen, but I'll stay positive. I'll keep ya posted.

This is bad!!!

So, I have a New Year's Resolution. Me and my dad (64 yrs old and barely 200 lbs) have decided to go walking to get in shape. And what better way to start off the New Year by walking around the neighborhood the very 1st day of the year...right??? So, we went to the end of the street (off to a good start)...then when we headed up the hill, I got winded. He was talking to me and all I could do was huff and puff. So, I told him to finish without me and I went back home. When I got back home, my mom was like "what happened and where's your dad??" I felt horrible telling my mom that I couldn't finish and my dad left me. I feel so bad...I used to be able to walk the whole neighborhood with no problem. This was a big reality check. Surgery or no surgery, I need to be healthier.
