3 yrs post surgery

Yesterday was 3 yrs since I had my RNY surgery. I am always surprised when I say it but I lost a whole other person. I was 350lbs when I started my journey and I currently weigh 175lbs. I can now do the things I wanted to do when I was too overweight to do them. My husband and I moved for Florida to Georgia and then on to Oregon. We plan to move back South next year but my weight loss has allowed me to hike up Multnomaha Falls. To walk along the Oregon Coast and capture a photo of a Rainbow over the Pacific Ocean. I have A sunrise photo from the East coast and a sunset photo on the West coast. I've hiked to Silver Falls and made a 3000+mile road trip in 3.5 days. I NEVER could have done this before. I can now chase after my grandkids and walk around the mall with my teenage daughter. I can help take care of elderly family members and enjoy an amazing life with my husband. I never could have done any of it when I was twice the woman I am today. I am Thankful I was able to have the surgery and blessed to have been sucessful and healthy. If you are trying to make the decision to do this. DO IT FOR YOU! I do not regret it. Infact, Without it I would not be here today.

15 days to go

 15 days till my gastric bypass. I am still sticking to my diet. no more weight loss since the 1st few days. Today I had a 6 oz sirloin, grilled zucchini and grilled green beans. Unsweet iced tea with splenda isnt half bad with lemon. for dinner tonight I had a 4 oz grilled chicken breast raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots with a little fat free carb free raspberry vinaigrette, while Jeff and I were out shopping today we found some very low calorie, low fat low carb mozerella and garlic stuffed chicken sasuages that we are going to grill tomorrow with some grilled asparagus. I was never been a big bread eater so thats not bothering me but I could KILL for some Mac n Cheese. YUM PASTA. But I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I will not forfeit it for a few bites of carb loaded cheesy goodness. Till next time!

day 7 & 8 STRESS stress stress

 Ok I didn't blog yesterday I got side tracked and busy at work. I kinda lost it on my diet a little. not too bad. For breakfast I had a salad. Im about sick of salads lol. for lunch a shake and last night i cooked backed chicken and noodle casserole for the fam. Well I had a bowl of the noodle casserole. It is loaded with carbs and fat I bet. Oh well. Move on do better. 

 

Today I had grilled honey dijon chicken topped with melted fat free cheese and portobello musrooms and steamed brocolli. YUM 

no shake yet. ive been so crazy busy. and now Im eating tuma salad with fat free sugr free mayo and scooping it with pork rinds, It tastes better than it sounds. Its the weekend and that rocks. Starting monday its 2 shakes one meal for 2 weels 2 days of clear liquids and then surgery! later loves.

Diet day 5

      I had an ultrasound of my gall bladder, liver, and right lung today. OUCH. I didn't know she was going to push it so hard. I swear I am all bruised up. Anyway I was NPO until after my apt at 10:30. Jeff and I stopped at save-a-lot and got some blackberries, banana's and baby carrots for me. We went to Wendy's coz he wanted some fries. He and I got a  double burger off the 99cents menu and he got a large fry. I know I can not have fries and they smelled yummy but I didn't have any. I had my burger without the bread and with lettuce tomato and onion. NO bread. yay me. I had some string cheese and carrots and cucumber for a snack and a blackberry banana protein smoothie. Yum.  for dinner I had 2 deviled eggs and 2 grilled ribs. going to go for a walk as soon as I post this and then finish my days work. I am now working 3pm to midnight still off weekends tho!

Diet day 4 Walking day 3

 I'm still at it. IDK if ya'll know how hard it is for me to walk a lot or if you have the same problems but I don't even walk around wal-mart anymore I have been taking a cart. Well my darling husband has started walking with me even tho the short walk bores him I am sure. By the time I get back my legs ache my hearts pounding my arms are sore from carring my 2 6lb weights. I hope I'm doing it right but I do think I already feel better. Anyway I stuck to my diet today. Yay 


I slept late and didnt really have breakfast but I did have a hamburger patty with cheese on it and a half a left over chicken breast from last night. 

I had a peaches and vanilla cream shake late afternoon.

for dinner I had 2 ribs 3tbs of baked beans and 3 deviled eggs. 

Im gonna have some brocolli and cauliflower before bed coz I am having a gall blader ultrasound in the morning and cant eat or drink after midnight. 

Jeff Kaitlyn and I went walking again and took Keia on her leash. I don't go far but I can feel the muscles and my hearts racing by the time I get back so I guess its doing some good. Thats all for this memorial day. I love being off and getting paid too. Can every day be a holiday off with pay

Diet Day 3 I lost 5 lbs YAY

      Diet Day 3 starts out well with a 2 egg spinach and parmesan omelet. It was good. Not crazy about the spinach tho. Lunch was a blueberry Banana protein smoothie. Kai and Jeff also had one. It was AWESOME. For a snack this after noon I had a few pork rinds.( I can have all I want of them believe it or not) and a low fat string cheese. For dinner its a broiled chicken breast, 1 deviled egg and some raw brocolli and cauliflower. I am so proud of myself for losing 5 lbs. My energy has increased just with that small loss. I cleaned house all day and tonight we are walking the dog. GO me GO me!

Diet Day 2

     Well once again I have been  a good girl. I am sticking to my diet. Everytime I want something bad I think about how hard I worked to get here. I have an apt on Tuesday for an ultrasound of my gall bladder. The only paper work they do not have at the surgeons office and 2weeks later is my preop appointment and 6 days after that my surgery. Yippie. well on to me being good!


Breakfast

2 scambled eggs with chopped onions parmesan cheese and bacon crumbles.


Lunch

chocolate mocha shake


Dinner 

grilled Chicken salad with 2 tblspoons of fat free ranch dressing. 

4 onion rings

unsweetened tea with lemon. 


I was a good girl. later tonight I might have 1 fat free string cheese stick. 


Last night I was craving something. IDK what. so I used my handy dandy blender and crushed me some ice and ate it. Yay me! 


I was up early this morning. I am following the Casey Anthony murder trail ( I think she is guilty.) I watched it and did some cleaning in my office and Kai and I did some laundry. Jeff and I went yard saling and I got lots and lots of walking. We found an AWESOME house we would love to live in but its out of our price range and I don't wanna move. I hate moving. Later in the day we went to see Hangover II. It was Hilarious. LOL Then shopping for some healthy foods at good prices. I was a couponista. I saved money at save-a-lot and walmart. I walked there too. Hey its exercise! I bought lots of leafy dark green veggies. Lettuce blends and baby spinich. cukes, tomatos, eggs, tuna and chicken to make chicken salad. Sugar free light mayo. It was on sale and I had a coupon whoo hoo. I got meat balls and grilled chicken strips. I also got some Vanilla Cream Whey protein powder, bananas blueberries and peaches. I am so going to ROCK this diet. Anyway I am heading to bed for some snuggle time with my love. Kai is chillin and watching disney. Night ya'll Thanks for believing in me!

Diet Day 1

  Well yesterday I got my Itinerary from my surgeon and I am to be on a modified Atkins diet. So let me tell you what I have had today. This morning I had 2 lean beef patties and that was it. At lunch I had a cappuchino Coffee protein smoothie  and tonight I am having a salad. My salad consists of romaine lettuce. red lettuce spinich, onions, celery, cherry tomatoes cucumber parmesan cheese and 2tbs spoons of sugar free raspberry vinaigrette. I was suprised how good it was. I always wanted to try something outside my usual ranch, french or thousandIsland but was afraid to. Well half way through my salad and I am FULL. I won't say that come 10pm I won't be starving but I got that taken care of too. I also bought brocolli and cauliflower to nibble on. Anyway Im going to try and do a daily meal post to help me stay on the right track. Thanks for listening to me as I go from the old me to a brand new better me! Love ya'll. Melissa
