Monet2009
I am a 33 year-old wife and mother of 8 year old twins, a boy and a girl. I have been married for 10 years. I have known my husband for 16 years. I am currently working for a large financial corporation, and getting my Masters degree also.
I have not always been overweight, as a young child and early adult I was very slim.
However, after college and taking several forms of birth control the weight began to creep on. The final straw was having children, and not being able to workout. However, I have tried several different types of diets, and achieved some major weight loss. The loss was only temporarily, the weight usually came back and brought a few extra pounds with it.
I looked into getting lapband surgery in 2007, however I wanted to make sure that I couldn't loose the weight one last time through exercise and dieting. In October 2007, I started working with a personal trainer and lost about 28 pounds and 36 inches in about 3 months . I had a friend who had the surgery and lost more than 80 pounds, she was my inspiration to proceed with the process.
My goal is to live a long life with my husband and children. I hope to regain my self-confidence and be able to walk down the street without felling like people are staring at me. I want to wear a bathing suit on the beach with my children and play in the sand with them without wearing knee shorts and tee shirt.
