My Process

Nov 08, 2008

Fast Forward Several year later:

Went to Surgeon office to get a fill in October 2012, well during this visit and subsquent x-ray tubing no longer connected to band.  Revision surgery required, so I decided to review my options and opted for VSG(sleeve).  Insurance process was very easy and painless, approved in less than a week.

Surgery completed on 4/5/2013, and I have loss 20 lbs in less than two weeks.......

Here is my process:

July 8 - attend information session @ Memorial Hospital

explained that pcp will provide medial history realized I have not established a pcp since I moved here.

July 22- 1st visit with pcp advise that I am interested in WLS

July 24- Education Seminar @ Novus Ctr - gave information on the process and advised that my insurance covers the procedure.

July 30th -Preoperative Orientation @ Novus Ctr from 9am-12 noon

August 4th- 7:30 am @ Memorial Hosp for Barium Test

August 11th- Novus Ctr @ 11am
for psychological and dietary evaluation

Follow up appt with pcp find out that LFT is higher than normal, advised that this may delay my sugery

August 14- 1st appt with surgeon Dr. Webb, he was very informative and advised me that I should be a SDS, since I am very healthy.

August 16 -Get Labwork done on for LFT

August 27th- Follow-up appt with PCP
LFT's still have not returned to normal levels.  PCP schedules me for an ultrasound at Memorial Hosp for my liver.

This process is getting a little tiring.

August 29th - Ultrasound @ 8:30 am

September 17th- appt with pcp ... get results from blood work

Septemer 22nd - Received call from Novus Ctrs that Surgery has been approved

October 14- Get form from pcp signed for release for sugery

October 24- Received call from Surgeon's office that scheduling surgery

November 3rd- Final appt with surgeon Dr. Webb at 2:15pm
Pre-op testing done at Memorial Hosp chest x-ray, ekg, blood work,
Surgery is November 11th
