I'm 42 years old, very happily married to a wonderful man! A man that has loved me for the last 18 years, soon to be 19. I'm the mother of a wonderful 17 year old son, I have battled my weight for my entire life! I have struggled with the ups and downs of weight more that last 4 years. My asthma is what finally found me a wonderful pulmonologist that told me that my weight was not my fault. He told me that because of all the steroids and meds for my heart and weight issues my metabolism was so screwed up that my body was not ever going to allow me to lose the weight and keep it off. I had lost 226 pounds about 6 years ago, and managed to regain every pound of it plus more. My doctor also told me that if I didn't have the surgery that I would not live to be here in the next 4 to 5 years, so my search for the right doctor and hospital began.
