You are doing well it looks like to me. I am also 5 1/2 weeks from surgery and have only lost 20 pounds but it is still not too bad if we lost 20 lbs a month it would only take 6 months to lose 120lbs haven't seen anyone lose that much that fast.lol Anyway what I am trying to say is that it will come off eventually we didn't gain it all in just a few months so it will take a little longer to get it off. Good luck

Marlene - call the docotr soon just to let doc and staff know about the discomfort. I knwo the rib cage is very sore aft surgery from reading other's posts - as they move you apart pretty wide for open rny. Hold onto the thought of you as a new and healtheir person. Get the fluids down so you will nto dehydrate, and remmber there are a lot of prayers coming yoru way every single day..even from old hicks in Arizona! Bless you in this journey.Elizabeth DeWolfe

Marlene, I'm glad you're okay. I think everyone has the same feeling when they get out of a major surgery but no one talks about it. Hang in there I think you'll do fine from here on out. My turn is Monday 27 of August.

Hello everyone. Well, I made it through surery and am home. I had it done on Wed. and came home yesterday. I do have a few ?'s though. First off, I know I just had major surery, but,has anyone been kind of like not lightheaded, but feel funny? I feel like all I want to do is sleep, but I"m not tired. Anywa, and now I have what feel like a lump in my throat. And kind of a stomach ache and back pain which is from the front putting stress on my back I guess. Sorry for being so negative and all, but right now i am at the " why the hell did I do this for " stage. Any input from you all would be appreciated. Take care and good luck to everyone on whatever part of this journey you're on.

8-13-01 Well, I have 2 days til my surgery. This will probably be my last post for a while. I have to get all the last minute stuff done today. We are leaving tomorrow to go down a day early and go to the beach and stuff. I go in the hospital on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and my surgery is at 2 p.m.I wish it was earlier, but, I'm sure I'll be ok. For some reason I've actually been pretty calm the past couple of days. Hopefully that's a good sign. LOL. I will have my hubby and 2 kids waiting for me afterwards. So, for now, good luck to all of you on your journey. And God Bless you all. Marlene

Hi Marlene, It's normal to have doubts right before surgery. Put all your cares on the Lord and He will see you through:) I'll be praying for a speedy recovery.
