Food Cravings

Jun 27, 2010

I'm not really having any. I know that some times I think, hmmm a slice of bacon or sausage would be good. The thought goes away just as quickly as it came. I don't really have the same relationship with food as I did before. I literally have to make myself eat. I forget if I don't keep a constant eye on the time. I'm going on 3 weeks post op and the Dr. says I can start solid foods and the only thing I've tried so far is a 1.5 oz peice of grilled chicken. I do need to go to the store so maybe I will pick up some sausage and some bacon. Who knows... I may hate them. I can tell you before that those were two of my most favorite breakfast foods. I'm really wondering about trying cold cereal again. Mostly empty calories and carbs that I don't need.

I'm still having some moderate pain on my left side. about a 5 on a 1-10 scale. It's getting old. I don't really think I'm over doing it. I don't feel a knot underneath the incision or anything. I think I will call my Dr. in the morning to see if this is normal.
I'm still very tired all the time. I sleep about 11-12 hrs per night. It's just like before though because i still feel very tired during the day. Maybe I will have that sleep study done.

Today along with my protein and vitamins I only ate 1/4 cup egg beaters and 1 oz of string cheese. I just didn't feel like eating. I'm drinking a ton of water and I'm thinking that is what's keeping me full. I know it is important to stay hydrated so water and protein are my main concerns right now.

Hopefully I will start to crave food again soon.

We are planning a cook out at our house this Saturday and Sunday. I go back to work on Tuesday. I am nervous. There will be so much to do and I don't know if I feel up to it yet. We'll see.
