slow going

Feb 27, 2009

Things have slowed down because I am having problems eating anything more than yogart and creamed soups, I had some testing done on the 18th and hope that we can figure out why I cannot get other textures down. Some times I cannot even get down the protein drinks without throwing them up. I pray that things improve soon, so I can get back on track. K

New Life

Jan 12, 2009

I cannot believe I had surgery 6 weeks ago. I have gone back to a soft foods diet with some fruit and vegies. I am also drinking a Boost everyday to cover the protein I am not eating. I am feeling well and finally begining to get my strength back. I am excited to visit with my surgeon this week and see what he has to say about how I am doing. This new life is a big step up from the old life and I am ready to live it to the fullest. K

on to better health

Dec 04, 2008

It is hard to believe that it has been a week since surgery, Surgery was so easy compaired to what I expected. About three days out I did have to remind myself  that I chose this surgery to save my life and to have a better quality of life. Now I am feeling so much better that I am so happy I did this. For anyone questioning this life change it is worth every bit.

Tomorrow

Nov 24, 2008

I leave tomorrow for Seattle and then surgery on Wednesday. I cannot believe that it is time. I have been working toward this for such a long time and now it is so close it doesn't seem real. Keep me in your prayers.

COUNT DOWN

Oct 29, 2008

I began my pre surgery diet early, it gives me time to adjust and a little extra lost weight is not going to hurt. I see the surgeon on the 5th of Nov for my pre op appointment. I have just begun the water exericise classes at the YMCA, all summer I have used the pool at my apts and they closed for the winter the end of Sept. so I contacted the Y to begin working out  there. The instructor has high energy and the group is great, it feels good to be back in the water. So I continue my onward and upward(back on my feet) motion.

In shock

Sep 15, 2008

Friday my surgeons office called and said my surgery was approved and then Saturday I got a letter from my insurance saying the same. I think I am still in shock. I have been working on this for several years and it is coming true. I am excited for the changes.

still waitting

Aug 29, 2008

I am still waitting for the insurance approval. I was up 5 pounds when I saw the dietian.  As long as I continue in the downward direction I will not sweat the 5 pounds. Funny that when this happens I usually loose about 20 the next month, I am strict about my eating after a gain so I usually come out ahead. Usually it is one day at a time sometimes it is one meal at a time. I don't beat myself up for the small changes. I know it will get better.

one step closer

Aug 05, 2008

I got a call from the hospital yesterday. They faxed my packet in for surgery approval. I should know in the next 2-3 weeks when I can schedule surgery.

lots of good news

Jul 28, 2008

First lump was not cancer, but need to do mamograms every 3 months to keep an eye on it. The best news is I signed the consent for surgery, the clinic will call in the next two weeks to schedule. I am so excited.
