Cancelled Consult
Well yesterday I took the day off of work to go to the 5 hour long consult and as I was almost there I got a call stating that the doctor had an emergency at the hospital and needed to cancel all of his consults for the day. Well to say I was a little disappointed is an understatement. Now I will not be able to have my consult until January 10th. I understand that emergencies happen and I am glad that the doctor would be there in a time of need. I would expect the same for me so I am not mad just disappointed that I have to now wait till after the first of the year. Oh well.
I also received a call from my PCP office. I had requested that they run a H-Pylori test on the blood they had just drawn. Well the assistant called to find out exactly what I was requesting and she also apologized that the doctor would not have been able to get out a letter of support by today but she will look into everything. I was suprised, I have an appointment with her on Monday and I hope that once we talk a little more and I am able to plead my case and explain more than just was my letter meant that she will give me the support that I need in taking this journey to a HEALTHIER ME!

Psych Evaluation
Well I had my psych eval today. I think it went well but I was sooo nervous. He said I needed to slow down and start practicing to chew and eat slower so I am taking that as a good sign. I believe he also said that I was a good candidate and very knowledgable on the process and risks involved. So hopefully with in 2 weeks I will be cleared by him for the surgery. Now I have my consult with Dr. Wood tomorrow and I need to convince my PCP that I need this surgery. She doesn't seem to want to give her support - she wants me to try something else and I can't get her to understand that I have tried and failed at just about everything. I have an appointment with her next Monday hopefully after reading my letter and talking with me a little more she will consent. We will see.

Well I just joined this site last week. I have my group consultation with Dr. Wood and the CORI Center on December 13, 2006. I am pretty nervous but optimistic. I really hope that I will be able to qualify. I haven't had a set PCP for a few years but I have been doing Medical Weight Loss for a little over a year and haven't lost much weight. It is expensive and the office wasn't as supportive as I would have thought with how much you pay for it. So next Wednesday I have my first meeting and I hope that everything goes well.
