Bound to Happen....dumping
Feb 03, 2011
Last night I had a headache and no tylenol, I was bad and had a swig of the liquid vicodin I had left over from my surgery.....1 month shy of 2 yrs ago. I have only had a mini dumping d/t fat that gave me diarhea and racing heart and was probably over a year ago. So I take the vicodin and @ 10 minutes later I am nauseated, I go to the bathroom, dry heave (as I usually don't throw up just dry heaves) for @ 2 minutes, felt "heavy" and decided I should crawl into bed....I stood up and got jelly legs, I know should have sat back down but decided to try and make it to my bed.......next thing I know my husband is in a panic asking me if I am ok and I am on the floor.....and my face hurts.....think I fell into the wall or door jam with my face and covered in a cold sweat. I had dry heaves a couple more times over the next 2 hours. I am thinking it was dumping although no diarhea and also wonder if i ended up with really low blood pressure which caused me to black out. Not sure if low sugar and or low b/p.....scary just the same.

WOW....NO more CPAP and NO longer "MORBID OBESE"
Nov 10, 2009
WOW, I had my sleep Dr. appt today and I don't have to wear my mask anymore. Dr. feels that I should be good to go and if I "snore" it will be because I have a under bite not because of my weight....,YEAHHHH
Also my BMI is below 35 which means I am no longer "morbidly obese", I am only obese.....a big step in the right direction. I am soooo proud of myself and very thankful for the support of my family and friends. Especially my husband!!! WE had so many rough times I would not have thought we would not survive the stress of losing weight but AS GOD as my witness I can say we are stronger than we have ever been. That make this accomplishment even more special. Thanks Alan. I love you.

My first 5K
Oct 04, 2009
I did my first 5K this morning. I did the run for the cure here in Windsor. I can't really say how long it took me since I ended up early in the walk needing to go to the bathroom as my IBS was acting up. I finished it, I figure in roughly 1.5 hrs. I was on the kids school team which took first place in the most monies raised. I had a good time, am sore as my knee still is not right but I finished it. I did a 1K walk in 2007 and barely made it and a short 2 years later I am walking 5K. I am hoping to run it next year. some of the volunteers suggested I take a short cut but I figure if my Auntie Do can fight breast cancer I could walk 5K. I hope GOD heals Auntie Do soon.
Love Ya

WOW moments....keeping me motivated.
Jul 29, 2009
At work yesterday, I was in the elevator and said HI to Dawn, one of the ladies I worked with @ 2 yrs ago. She was a little startled and said, wow, I almost did not recognize you. As she was moving in I said HI to Gloria behind her whom ignored me. I said a little louder, Hello Gloria. She really started and said "OMG, i did not even recognize you" Wow, what 65 lb lose and do to someone.
Gotta love it. Today my husband was able to wrap his arms around me....all of me including my arms. Wow do I feel good.
Love ya

4 months tomorrow
Jul 01, 2009
Tomorrow it will be 4 months out. I finally got to the Dr. for my 3 month check up. I am down 48lbs since surgery and the the 10 prior to surgery making a total of 58 lbs. The nurse told me that make 27% loss of my total excess wt. She then went on to say that most people loss 30% in 3 months...hmmmmm. So then we go into the room and take a look at my labs....B12 is good, cholesterol panel is good, ferritin is a little low. My TSH which represents my thyroid function is almost 3 times higher than it should be....which means I am going to need more synthroid. NO wonder my wt. loss is a little slow and I am tired. Here I thought it was because I was doing more and staying up later......Can't wait for my meds to be adjusted.
At work it is neat hearing people ask about my wt loss, people whom did not know I had surgery. I have not hid it but I work in an office building. I may be losing slower then most but I am losing it and remain motivated.
So for anyone whom is reading this......keep using this surgery as the tool that it is.

Some peoples kids........
May 31, 2009
Well, last week at work I bumped into my director, She asked how I was doing. My comment was I was feeling pretty good, was down almost 40 lbs and starting to feel good. She looked at me and said...Where? I said, well you know a little here and there....she went on to say....Well definitely not your legs. SLAP.....I was not expecting that. My only reasoning is 1- she could not hear how she sounded, 2- has never ever had any trouble losing weight...you know the type....perfect size 2. I just shook my head and thought.... what a *****..I am looking and feeling great. Good thing I am doing this for myself......

Finally...
May 16, 2009
Well this week |I finally started to "EXERCISE". As you may know I had knee surgery in December that did not really help and I have knee pain. It was not too bad when I could take my aleve each morning. Now that I can no longer take aleve my knee has been killing me. So I figure I might as well start exercising since it hurts anyways, So my goal was to exercise 3 days this week.
I did Wii fit on Monday and Tuesday on Wednesday I was too tired but I walked on my lunch on Thursday and Friday @ 25 minutes. My knee hurts but not really any more, my goal is to walk at lunch weather permitting 3 or 4 days a week.

2 months out
May 02, 2009
What have I learned in the last 2 months. It is great to have control over my eating. I don't have any cravings and mostly don't miss any foods. I mostly have been able to get my protein in thanks to Carnation instant Breakfast....no sugar added.
I am down 36 lbs and tomorrow will figure out how many inches. I had a nail appt. this am and forgot to do it. I can say I am currently wearing the red jeans I bought before Bradley was born...and I can do them up. I don't really have a favorite food but tend to eat a fair amt of chicken and tuna.
Keeping the journey safe....hope to have my bike up and running soon. Hope to get the before and after photo's up soon.
Ciao for now.
