5 weeks and counting...

Jan 17, 2011

Here I am at 5 weeks post op and I have to say it was like everything I'd heard and read and yet not...I know that doesn't really make any sense to anyone else, but here in my head it does.  I haven't had any terrible or traumatic side effects as some have from their surgery, my weight loss hasn't been as dramatic as others.  I am satisfied with both those things.  I know we aren't supposed to feel any actual true hunger for a long while, but I do, I just act like it's in my head so I can eat like I am supposed to.  My reasoning is that this would've eventually happened and I'd have to not act upon it then...so I am just starting it earlier than I would've...I do wonder why it is already happening though...

So far from surgery I have lost only about 24 pounds.  I am glad about this, but just hope it continues (I know it will, but the mind can be a tricky thing).  I can only tell somewhat in my face and slight fit of certain clothes I put on, so I know it has really gone away, but it is a difficult thing to see in the mirror...I mean for goodness sakes that is the size of my schnauzer!  You'd think it'd be a bit more noticable...oh well!...hindsight will be 20/20 in photos I am sure...

My husband is scheduled for his surgery on the 7th of February and I can't wait for his to be done that way we'll be on the same eating plan...I am eating "on my plan" protein first, green veggies...staying away from white carbs, pasta, bread, etc. and trying to get all the water in I am supposed to (stop take another sip)...right now all sweet smelling things is a turn off for me, which includes protein shakes...yes, I have tried several, yes, I have tried the isopure too...still searching though...
