Healing at home

Sep 01, 2009

I must say that my surgery was not normal, and according to my surgeon is quite rare.  I do actually have an excellent Doc, and think the world of him and his abilities.  I must say this that if I was going in for laproscopic  (insert any type of surgery)  My bleeding would have still have happened.  It had absolutely nothing to do with it being bariatric surgery what so ever.

I still had a ton of pain, I could not get up by myself, actually I could barely do anything for myself, that is where my fabulous husband comes in, he did everything.  He took care of the house, and the kids, and my care especially.  He slept downstairs with me (I could only sit in a recliner- due to the pain).  It was not easy on him nor did he sleep well, but he never complained once.  He is the super hubby/daddy!!!

It took about two weeks for me to feel good enough to get out of the recliner myself, and to start really moving on my own.  Everything I did took forever, Slow was my new pace in life.  It was rough but I battled against it everyday.

Today I am 3 weeks out from surgery, and still feeling extremely tired and weak.  I find myself longing for the future when I will have energy and strength again.  I choke down my protein shakes everyday, and all the other things on my full liquid diet.  It isn't that they taste awful, it is just that I have no desire to eat, or even drink liquids for that matter.  No worries though, I meet my goals everyday and if not I am so close It probably doesn't matter to much.
