I was morbidly obese with a BMI of 43 when I started as of of right now I am Obese with a BMI of 33.  I need to get down to around 160 to be overweight and then 130 to be ideal.

I have just had a slow lunch 3 slices of bacon 1 egg and some mushrooms (maybe 4 slices) I AM FULL but I can eat like everyone else.

Long story when I was too tight I wouldnt have dared do bacon it used to come back up at me with interest.  But now at this tiny amount in my band I can do it.  I am eating around 700 cals a day losing weight and eating.  See my happy dance.

Perhaps now I can achieve success and get this weight off.  Fingers crossed.

Waiting for Friday to weight myself and then I will post this blog.  However in order to keep me honest I have started writing it now!

So here we are at Friday again!    I was up .5lb on Tuesday morning and I know I wasnt a good girl over the weekend so I made a real effort from Tuesday to Friday and guess what I lost 2lb in those few days so clearly I can do this.

So back to 184 hoping for a good loss this week, and we shall try to do our very best to keep on the straight & narrow.

Calories we need to survive

I was looking at a thread from Lindsey C and she found a great website http://caloriecount.about.com/   so in it it says to eat 500 -1000 cals less per day than you actually use.   It suggests you shouldnt go below 1200 and it gives you details of when you should reach your goal weight..  So mine would be Feb 2010 losing 1.5 lb per week.    Hoping it will be sooner if I do well, any how, I found on their site in their tools section a daily calorie expenditure based on height age weight and activity level and apparently I use 1980 cals a day so if I am eating around 800 - 1000 I should be losing weight. as that takes me to the 1000 less a day than I need.  I am going to be interested to see how my weight loss does on these numbers.

Just thought I would pass it on as we all seem to ask these questions,

So I got on the scale today and was done a pound since Friday, I was  a little disappointed as I wanted more.  Then I said to myself a pound down is better than a pound up.

Then reality hit home,   I was weighed at my surgeons on wednesday last week and I was 188.5 as of today I say 186 that makes 2.5 lb in a week, then I was happy.

It amazes me how we expect miracles, and I am guilty of that, but once I realised 2.5 in a week I was able to take a step back and give myself a pat on the back.

Just wanted to share.

Didnt make 186 for the challenge but seriously thats ok.   Strange day though, ate my kozy shack rice for breakfast coffee while teaching and then got some curried tofu, seaweed salad and some mushrooms from whole foods didnt eat much but I was no Im done thanks.  Had coffee, grabbed a handful of cheese before my daughters birthday party and pat on the back please, refused the pizza and the cupcakes.  Ate 5 shrimp for dinner and holy cow I was done 450 calories for the day.

Seriously hoping to loose some weight and this time, I think I have it, I think I can say no thanks I dont need to eat anymore,

I think I have it,


restriction that is,   I am on mushies today and so I ate a rice with fruit for breakfast, coffee during the morning, tuna salad for lunch, coffee, and then clam chowder and I am full!  I know my head is trying to say go and find something to eat, but I can feel I am done.   

On another plus the scales at work seemed to have moved down to 187, hoping to be at 186 for the weigh in tomorrow for the challenge.

Strange day, went to see doc today and was weighed at 188.5 not too bad in my opinion, we did the fill with the tube in and I tried to really feel the ice cold water going down and the first time yep it went way too slow, so we took some out, he left a valve in so he could do that, we are being super cautious after my unfil!!!

More to drink still didnt feel good, more fluid out and felt OK so lets try that!

I did get asked to go the new patient seminar and be the experienced bandster of the night - my words were are you sure i'm not doing so well right now, the answer, they need to hear the truth and you always tell it like it is, the good the bad and the damn right ugly so I said OK.

Liquids only for the rest of today and although I felt hungry and have had a protein shake, I am done, that shake is starting to make me feel a little sick its 9.30 at night and I need to go to bed soon.

Had a call from my pcp about more blood work and as per usual she wont leave a message so god only knows what has gone wrong with my body now.  I'll let you know.

TODAY IS A NEW DAY..............

I am making today my day to commit to this band.   I am on NSAIDS for ankle pain, however, I am going to make sure that I eat well for the rest of this day.

No idea how the weight is coming on or off at the moment as not at work this week, school vacation!

However, I am feeling less bloated and I do know that my portions are smaller, biggest problem is trying not to nibble in the afternoon.  I am trying to drink in the afternoon rather than eat, but sometimes the craving for solid snacks is soo damn hard to resisit, oh well today as they say is another day.
