Question:
I\\\'m having leg pain

I have this pain in my legs. They feel bruised in the calfs and shin area. Kind of like the pain after you have a cramp but this pain never goes away and it happens when I rub them. It use to happen just at night but now it is all the time. Just my legs laying on each other at night hurts. Pain is mostly on the lower part of the legs but at times is all over. Any help?    — Kelly C. (posted on December 26, 2001)

For you own safety call your surgeon IMMEDIATELY just in case its blood clots forming... They are very serious, so let the pro decide.

I, too, had this kind of pain after surgery. I didnt let me mind wander to the bad thoughts of blood clots because I knew I was doing everything I was supposed to be doing. When my legs were bothering me, I just walked even more than my usual 1 1/2 miles a day (3x a day - a half mile route). I was walking this the day after I was released from the hospital. Exercise is very important!! But, if you are still scared, I agree with Bob, call your doctor. He/she will have sound advice for you. Good luck and God bless you!!

I\'m glad you asked this question, and for the responses. I also have leg pain sometimes, and I figured I was just getting vericose (sp?) veins! Never thought it could be blood clots! Thanks!

Here's another thought....I've had the same problem...then my fiance noticed how much weight I've already lost in my legs/ankles and suggested that maybe its because of that, because of all the water weight gone. Just a thought.... 12/6-36 lbs
