Hi Deann, My name is Kelly* Pearsall, we might have spoken before, I can't remember. How is your progress going. Mine is going VERY SLOW. I've only lost 36 pounds. I weigh myself on a Mon. morning. I can eat just about anything I want except for anything with to much sugar. I try to stay away from carbs totally, but have rhem once in a while. I try to get on the treadmill at least 4 times a week. I don't understand why I'm losing so slowly, but I try to convince myself that this is a better way of losing, maybe I won't lose any hair. Let me know how you are doing. Bye, Kelly*

Well how are you doing? You have no info on your profile about how you are doing. I had surgery 5 days before you and I am down 65 pounds since that day as of yesterday and I am feeling pretty normal. Kelly- have you seen a nutritionist? I see one weekly and you may just not be eating enough or not quite the right stuff and water is really important if you are not getting enough. I only lost 1.75 pounds last week and doubled my water and lost 5 this week. And if you are doing everything you need to be doing then they can tell you that too and you can relax about it. We really all do lose at different rates. I went to my support group all proud that I had lost 60 pounds in 3 months and the lady before me had lost 60 pounds in 6 weeks!!! UGH! Good Luck!

I had surgery on 1/21/03. I have lost 55lbs. 42% of my excess body weight. I am 5'6" & started at 318. I feel like it's slow but I guess it's not. The old saying is true even for us. We didn't put it on in 1 day & it won't come off in 1 day. I guess I thought it would just fall off or something. As long as we lose that's all that matters. (It would be nice if it was over night)

My surgery date was Jan 16.I started at 288 and as of last week I have lost 45.5 pounds and 29 inches. I told my seven year old son I have taken a whole him out of me! I feel wonderful. Having a few problems eating too fast and losing it as quickly but this also passes very quick. I work 8:30 to 5:30 and have not been getting any exersize in except jumping for joy at the results so far.

I had my surgery on Jan.10,2003. I have lost 62.5lbs. I walk a few times a week and I stay away from sugar, it makes me feel sluggish. I have hit plateau after plateau, but I am learning to stay off those SCALES!!! Good luck and may God bless....

My lap RNY surgery was on 1/30/03. I am 5'7". I started at around 260 lbs. I have lost down to 212 as of today. I have gone from a size 24/26 to a size 18. I had a rough time with nausea from about wk 3 to wk 6 but thankfully, that has passed. I had some severe "head hunger" for several weeks after the surgery but I am pleased to say that for the most part, that has passed. (: I have not started a regular exercise program but I am moving so much more than I did before surgery!!! I feel so much better! I am experiencing some fatigue. I am craving beef, which I have been able to tolerate well and imagine it has to do with some of the vitamins/minerals that beef contains. I just got my PCP to give me a prescription for B-12 shots which I will give to myself. I still have some soreness and pain occasionally in my stomach (under the skin). My surgeon says it's normal and it has to do with scar tissue forming. I am so happy I was blessed enough to have this surgery! Good luck on your own journey and be careful not to "compare" yourself too much to others as far as wt loss. As long as you are losing, you are SUCCESSFUL!!!

Hi all,It's Deann. I didn't tell everyone about myself. I have only lost 42lbs. since Jan.20. Kelly you and I have SO much in common!!! I started losing my hair at exactly 2 months. It's coming out in handfuls. BUT...I wouldn't change a thing. This is the best thing I've ever done for myself. It is truly a blessing to have had this surgery. Kelly I would love to talk more with you! Thank you all for taking the time to write me!!!
