I also felt like I could eat too much. From day one. My surgeon was baffled but assumed since I wasnt throwing up I wasnt 'overeating'. A upper GI test was not given until I was 6 months post; the results - the 'opening' from my pouch to the intestines was 'too big' so food was NOT staying in the pouch at all, but falling directly from the espogus into the intestines. The final results: I have NO food limits. the pouch is useless. I can over eat. YOU will still have 'malabsorbtion' and 'loose weight (I lost 150 12 months post) but unless its fixed (and my surgeon and MOST all surgeons do not fix it (your left to your own ) you will have to 'diet' and watch to not over eat. sorry :(

Janice popcorn is one of those foods that we can eat more of usualy. Secondly, how long did it take you to eat that 1/2 of the meatball sandwich and did you eat the bread?

Half of a six-inch sub or half of a 12-inch sub? I would believe I could eat 1/2 of a six-inch sub (depending on the day). I had my surgery March 20, 2002. A lot of people (including me) worry that we can eat too much. It depends on a number of things. Lenght of time it took you to eat it for one.

I too am about 9 weeks out and sometimes feel like I can hold alot more than I used to, however I am still loosing and am down 39 pounds. I have expressed concern to my Dr. and he didnt seem to be concerned and said he would see how my weight loss did over the next 3 months since I had no problems, he did say that my pouch could be up to 8 oz..I guess everyones is different. As long as you are loosing with no problems I would say everything is ok. Good Luck!

I'm exactly the same. Surgery was 1-7-2 and I could probably come close to finishing a 6 inch sub. If it was not for the huge scar I wouldn't even know I had surgery!

This is in response to Sherry. I had surgery around the same time (1/15/02) and most of the time I feel like I can eat too much. I think I could eat a 6 inch sub if I took half the bread away. I constantly have to remind myself of what I would be eating if I didn't have surgery. I could eat a 12 inch sub plus chips and probably still be able to eat more. I have never been one of those people that gets full on a couple bites of food though. That does cause me a lot of worry. Especially now that my weight loss has slowed significantly. I flipped out the other night because I ate almost an entire lean cuisine. But when I took a really good look at how much it was, that would have been a pre-dinner snack for me before. And Jan, I find that when I have a craving for something (like you with subway) I usually indulge myself and don't want it anymore. I had been watching the commercials for taco bell grilled stuffed burrito and craving. Finally got one and bleh, I can't even look at a taco bell now. Haha. I hope you are feeling better about things.
