I use Excedrine Quicktabs...they melt in your mouth and work quickly. They DO NOT contain aspirin or Nsaids...same medication as TYLENOL. GOOD LUCK!!

Anita, call your surgeon and tell him (or his nurse) that you need something for cramps, since you are not "allowed" to take NSAIDS. (My surgeon, on the other hand, gave me the okay to take Vioxx 25 mg. or ibuprofen if needed. I take Vioxx once a day (with a little food) for the first three days of my period with complete relief of pain. Tylenol is a waste of time for me. I don't even keep it in the house.)Otherwise, I would be writhing on the floor. Call and insist on something for the pain!

I agree with the last poster, call your doctor and ask. I'm permitted to take Ibuprophen (a NSAID) so long as I take it on an empty stomach with a large drink of water so that it goes straight thru into the intestines, which is where it needs to dissolve to do it's work anyway. But definitely get YOUR docs opinion on this - and it never hurts to ask again :>)

Not the most pleasant, but I'm sure they make tylenol suppositories - would work very quickly.

Hi, if the Excedrin Quicktabs are the same as traditional Excedrin they would have a mix of aspirin and acetometephin. Just double check the label to be sure. I have not used it or looked at the label. Good luck!

I cast my vote for Tylenol Quicktabs. I get the spearmint kind, and they taste pretty decent. They work SUPER quick too. Just let them melt in your mouth, don't chew, and don't drink anything too soon after. That will help it absorb into your bloodstream faster. 8-26-02, Open VBG, 315-185
