Question:
Pain may be phantom pain!

I had severe cramping pain the other night. It was about an 8 out of 10. I was doubled up but decided to eat something to try and break the pain cycle. The pain stopped. The doctor thinks some of us have phantom pain similar to what amputee's get when they feel pain in their missing limb. By eating, I broke the cycle of nerve messages that kept being sent to the brain. Hope this helps someone.    — Thomas M. (posted on March 5, 2003)

wow! that is pretty interesting. i am glad you posted this because now i know what to expect. i wonder if others have had this. i just don't want a doctor telling me it is in my head or something when there is a real reason for pain. i rather a doctor say "i dont' know" instead of tell me it's in my head. thanks for your post !!
