I have to say this is the most caring and considerate doctor I have ever come in contact with. He is FABULOUS! A caring man with THE BEST bedside manner. He follows up on you and my surgery has gone without a hitch. No problems, no strictures, no infections. He is moving to a private firm from Scripps Green which will be a huge loss for them. I will pay out of my own pocket to continue to be his patient. If you are looking for a doctor in San Diego he will be the one to see. He will be at Ximed by Scripps Memorial.

Wonderful, wonderful surgeon!!

He gave me back my life!!! I had surgery 11/29/06 and I'm down 55 pounds and 3 sizes! rnHe has a good positive approach and a great sense of humor, good bedside manner, and extremely knowledgable to what he is doing and I felt very comfortable picking him as my surgeon. rnThe office staff is great, and very sensitive to the needs of bariatric patients, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone going through the process.rnI have only seen him once in the office after the surgery, but I do see another doctor on the same team for the follow up visits , and he is great, (Dr Fudgioka), and very knowledgable.rnThe downside of all this, is that bariatric surgery is very popular now, so the office is very busy, and if you haven't been through the process, it might take a long time to get an appointment.rnI have nothing negative to say, as I was treated very well throughout the whole process, Dr. Boyrul checked on me twice a day in my four day hospital stay at Scripps Green, where I was given my own room and great round the clock care!

Dr. Bhoyrul did my Gallbladder surgery in Feb 06. I really like him a lot. I actually chose him because I thought there might be a very small possibility that he could go ahead and just do my lap band at the same time... (didn't work, lol)

Dr. Bhoyrul makes sure you are prepared for this life changing event by making commitments to healthy eating & exercise before surgery. This was hard to do but the nutritionist & endocrinologist were extremely supportive in this process.
All the office staff are also very helpful. Nurse Nancy is great!
Dr. Bhoyrul's surgical team is awesome (Dr. Linn has been a Godsend, Ed the PA was excellent).
Dr. Bhoyrul emphasizes the importance of sticking with our program and won't let you get off easy! He cares about his patients and wants them to lose weight & be healthy!

First impression-Very Professional. Did not judge. Was very concern for overall health.

Nothing bad to say about staff or doctors. They're not a bunch of candy asses. They expect you to work at losing weight and getting healthy.

Very upfront about the risks of having surgery. Dr. Bhoyrul and his peers are the best in their field. I like the team approach, it works for me knowing that everyone is on the same page.

These doctors are the best. Their competence is fairly intact. Patient care and respect will always win my heart.

Dr. Bhoyrul is AWESEOME. He took the time to get to know me and my family, as he believes surgery is a family affair. He is strict and serious with his demands, but he is compassionate and easy with a smile when you succeed. He says what he means and means what he says.

His office staff is ok. Some are friendlier than others, but all are helpful. Aftercare is taken very seriously. Meetings are frequant and informative.

Dr. Bhoyrul was wonderful. I highly recommend him! I had my first consult on 6/28 and he took time to explain the procedures that he thought I should consider (Roux-en-Y and Lap band) and answered all of my questions without rushing me or making me feel like I was taking too much time. He encouraged me to exercise more - something I need to do - and was very positive about my success with whichever procedure I picked.

I chose the lap band for many reasons and am comfortable with my decision. After meeting with Dr. Bhoyrul a few times, I am very confident with his ability and skill.

The only negative thing I have to say is that at my last appointment, he said that he would submit me for approval, but I was not to gain any weight. I guess that irritated me, but I'm sure he has a good reason to say it. I'm sure there are those patients who go on the "last supper" binge before surgery. I just think it could have been said a little differently, but the same point made. This still doesn't change my opinion of him. He's a terriffic doctor.

Dr.Bhoyrul is amazing. From the very first time i walked into his office he was open, direct and honest. On the very first visit he walked in, sat down and stated that this was the beginning of our journey together and it was important for us to get to know one another! He stated several times that the process doesn't end with surgery but is just beginning. He answered questions and even drew pictures to help me to understand all that was happening. Dr. Bhoyrul and his team have a very intensive aftercare program and expect you to participate in it. Due to a vacation i had planned we set my surgery date 2 months ahead of time. However he made it very clear that if i gained any weight during that time he would cancel my surgery and he meant it. Although surgigal competence is VERY important, bedside manner is equally important and Dr Bhoyrul has both. During my stay in the hospital he made rounds each day, even on the weekend. Thus i was very impressed by his manner. Before and during my hospital stay he made my family feel part of the process.
