I absolutely loved having Dr. Carter as my surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and conveys the information regarding the procedure with both pros and cons. His bedside manner is awesome, he talks to you not at you... and in layman's terms. He has a structured aftercare program, that is for the patient's benefit to ensure that vitamin levels, etc are on track. I had a complicated surgery, and have felt that Dr. Carter not only took care of any issues that came up, but also that he was able to prevent other complications from arising. The staff were fantastic, and I came to know a few of them quite well. Quite frankly the worst I have to say regarding Dr. Carter is his office hours are limited.

When I first met Dr Carter he made me feel very at ease. He is a super nice guy.He was very upfront with me and did not sugar coat anything at all. He informed me of all the risks and benifits. I had gone in with my mind made up of what I wanted and after reciving more detalied info from him I changed my mind. Im glad that he gave me more info it helped me make the best choice for me in the long run and all around. I would recomend him to anyone!!

My surgeon was Dr. Beekley, however he is no longer at Ft. Campbell. He is now at Madigan Army Medical Center in Ft. Lewis, Washington. He was great. I absolutely love him. Date of Gastric 9/6/06rnMy Tummy tuck was done by Preston carter at MAMC in Ft. Lewis WA. I had the tummy tuck done in August of 2007. I had 14.8lbs of skin removed from my hips and tummy. I had an allerigic reaction and infection to the sutures and had to have a revision and debreading done in Aug 08. rnEven given the complications I do not nor do I think I ever will, regret my decision to have the surgery!

My first impression of Dr. Carter was one of cofidence. He made me feel that I had made the right decision. Dr. Carter has a wonderful bed side manner. Office staff was efficent. There wasn't anything I didn't like about Dr. Carter. He will listen to what you have to say. He related to me the importance of taking it slow for another two weeks, but did say that I could do light house work. Yes ,he said that when I come into see him at my nex't appointment we will see if I'm ready to do heavier work. Yes Dr. Carter did go over the risks with my husband and I. He answered any questions we had. I would recommend Dr.Carter to anyone thinking of going to have the Gastric Bypass. I could not ask for any better surgeon.rnrnNo, I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Carter. He is a wonderful surgeon, and I was glad to have him do my surgery .

I have only met with him once, but he came very highly recommended. My visit with him was very relaxed and informative. He seems to have a very good bedside manner, and a very good knowledge of his field. He fully explained everything to me that I needed to know, and answered all of my questions. He also helped me with documentation that I needed for my husband's job to get time off. All in all, I am very confident in Dr. Carter preforming my surgery.

I have only met with Dr. Carter once so far, but he was very friendly, kind and thorough. I normally don't feel comfortable discussing my weight issues with others, even medical professionals, but I'm very confident in his training and expertise which made it easy to discuss my medical history and battles with weight gain with him. He explained the procedure and the differences between lap and open. He explained the pre-op process and made sure I didn't leave his office with any questions.rnrnHis office staff was also very friendly, caring and knowledgeable. Before I met with Dr. Carter, I met with a young female nurse who took my weight, height, blood pressure and temperature. Before meeting with Dr. Carter, I met with one of his partners or assistants (I didn't catch his name, but I'll update when I hear it again) - he was also very kind and comforting to talk to about the surgery. rnrnFrom what I understand, Dr. Carter is the head of the bariatric surgery department. He has been performing surgery since well before I was born, and I am very confident in his ability to perform this operation and act in my best interests.rnrnThere is a structured aftercare program, which is available for review on the MAMC website. Pathways classes, specialists appointments and further appointments with Dr. Carter and his team will cover this subject as well. He stressed the fact that aftercare is very important, and that long-term success will be up to me once he has done his part (my words, not his) in performing the operation and making sure I'm \"trained\" in how to care for my body post-op.rnrnDr. Carter and his staff made it very clear that this surgery was not a simple one. Regardless of which procedure I choose (lap or open), the surgery is a major one and post-operative care should be taken seriously. rnrnI think a careful blend of surgical competence and bedside manner is important, and so far I believe Dr. Carter is right on track with that. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering having this surgery done, and I look forward to him leading me towards \"the new me.\"rnrn**note** Dr. Martin (one of Dr. Carter's associates) actually performed my surgery, and has been responsible for my follow-up visits since then. I think just as highly of him as I did Dr. Carter. Very highly recommended.

I have not met Dr. Carter yet but he comes highly recommended and I hopernthat I can make an appointment with him within the next few month.rnI called TRICARE to see if they had received my referral and to schedule an appointment but they told me no and I should contact my PCM so he can another referral, they even gave me a fax number. So hopefully this time around it will work out for me.
