For three years I was told by my primary care doctor to consider bariatric surgery, I watched and met with many surgeons in the area. Dr. Ahmad’s office greeted me with such a genuine concern for me as a person. I attended the seminar in Jan 08, and was so impressed with Dr Ahmad and his staff. I was also invited to sit in on of their support groups and talk with patients who already had surgery. I was greeted with open arms and I felt so comfortable; I knew I was in the right place. April 14 2008, I underwent Gastric bypass and never looked back. I found a new family and never missed a support group. I’m now out 4 years and I always walk away with something new. Even the office staff is great! They always encourage you to attend support and follow up with a trained nutritionist, which I could not say enough about how great they are. I’m now down 135 lbs and from a woman size 30-32 to a 12-14 misses size.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ahmad's since March 2011. I was supposed to have surgery in April but had to cancel and re-schedule my lapband surgery for August 2011. With the help of Dr. Ahmad's caring and knowledgeable nutritionists I lost 28 pounds before the surgery by following their advice and know how. Since surgery they have continued to be wonderful and have helped me every step of the way and I have lost another 22 pounds since my surgery 8/19. I have lost 50 pounds all together and I'm on my way to becoming a healthier and more attractive woman.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Ahmad and his staff. From the first time I met him at the Intro. meeting at Mather I knew I trusted him to do my surgery. He is brilliant and kind and has shown that he really cares for me as a person and not just as a doctor. Dr. Ahmad is a more than capable surgeon. He made it very easy for me to go ahead and do this surgery that I had been thinking of having for 10 years.

His incredible wife Seema is part of his team and is also loving and caring. Despite having so many patients, she always remembers my name and asks me about my life (which she also remembers).

For my aftercare I have been seeing Dr. Ahmad's young assistant Dr. Agawal. He has been a gods send to me and again really cares about me and my care. I always feel like I am in his competent hands. I can ask him virtually anything. I feel like we are real partners in my care. Also even though he is very busy, whenever I come in for an office visit, Dr. Ahmad makes a point to come in and see how I am doing.

I am so glad that I chose Dr. Ahmad and his team to do my surgery. I was unable to lose weight doing anything else and I am so excited to be on the this journey with my new lap band and Dr. Ahmad's excellent team! One of my only regrets in life is that I didn't do this soone!.

Had Gastric By-Pass Surgery on Sept. 14, 2011 and it has been the best decision I've made. Dr Ahmad's team of care providers are the best at what they do, from the Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Aids at John T. Mather Hospital including everyone in the Office. I what to give my THANKS to each and eveyone of them for helping me and my family overcome a health issue I could hurrdle over without each and everybody help here.....THANK YOU!!!!!

I had gastric bypass surgery on Sept 14, 2011 and it was the best thing I have ever done. Dr. Ahmad and staff are the best and the care I recieved before during and after has been 1st class. I would highly recommend Dr. Ahmad & Staff. I am so excited to be on my new Journey!!

After attending Doctor Arif Ahmad's Weight Loss Seminar I knew I wanted him to be the surgeon for my gastric bypass surgery. He is a very caring and compassionate person. He answered all my questions and I felt completely safe and confident with him. His office staff are friendly and professional some of them are his paients! :) His Wife also works in the office and answered many of my questions which made me feel more confident with my decision to have WLS. Doctor Ashish Agarwala is wonderful aswell. I would defenitly recomend anyone seeking WLS to attend Doctor Ahmad's weight loss seminar.

Dr. Ahmad appears to have your best interest at heart when pursuing the life changing surgery. However, unless you are going to continue in his care long term, you may be left in the dust in the after care process. Its like buying a new car, once the sale is made and you drive it off the lot, you are no longer given that special attention. Dare to say anything negative in support meetings and you might be banned from meetings and told you are no longer a patient as was done in my experience.

Working mother of an adult child and one teenager I am looking forward to losing weight after 25 years of gaining wegiht. Dr.Ahmad is a wonderful Dr. He is caring to your needs, listens and talks to you.
